I should add that I already have the control head mounted up in a convenient location, so it's just the body that I need to find a home for. So yes, you're suggestion is valid.
Thanks,

Higher octane does not equal "better", just higher octane. Although there seems to be some, uh, creative liberty taken by the marketing departments of the fuel retailers. :)
Does that actually work? I was under the impression that running higher octane fuel in an engine that does not specify it made zero difference. Higher octane fuel allows higher compression, but that only matters if your timing can achieve it.

I would think that a 5' bed should give me quite a bit more room than the cargo area of the 80.
I was contemplating a high cap with a basket on the cab and the RTT (hard shell) on the cap.

That kind of comment really pushes me towards a small truck. Currently have an 80-series Land Cruiser and I know it will not last forever, the next truck is likely going to be a Tacoma.
Then comes the cab and bed length decision matrix…
For two adults and small boy, I'm kind of...
Looking for ideas (with photos, please!) of where to put the transceiver body of my Kenwood TM-V71A in my 80 series. Trying to find a better spot than under the passenger seat as that may get wetter that I'd like. :snorkel:
Also, need to mound a small square speaker for it.
Thoughts?
Thanks,

That's been my own instinct, but I've read so many posts about lack of power that I worry.
I assume the "boy" riding in the back can't require a child seat, right?
Is the front not a bench?
This model is a real option to replace my 80 when the cancer finally kills her.
I don't tow, is there a reason not to get the 4-cylinder?
Can you seat a man, boy and woman?

Sorte to hijack… :)
Anyone found a source for decent aluminum bridging ladders, in NA? I figure a bunch of folks on this thread have likely done the research.

The fridge seems to occasionally think the voltage is insufficient and the check light turns on.
Am I correct in my understanding that I must measure voltage with the fridge drawing load to know if there is drop?
As a test, I ran the fridge at -4ºC for about 20 hours until it auto-shutoff (high setting). Battery was measured at 12.3v at this point.
Truck interior was pretty warm during the day.
