Wonderful story Ace. My wife has 18 months yet to work. Plan on heading south as soon as she retires as we have grandkids in Mexico. Hope this will be part of a future Old Farts trip down there.

Jared,
You're absolutely right; that is Jug Handle arch.
BTW, latest news from the vets at WSU hospital; Tucker is free of cancer cells as of yesterday. Guess we truly will have to get back down there now and spend some more time with the Old Farts Expeditions group. What a wonderful group...
Great writeup and pics! That gorge on the north end of the trail is a real eye opener. My buddy Geoff and I did it from south to north back in '06. I think the trail has been degraded quite a bit since then by use and floods. My hat is off to you! I was with Frenchie and Ace in October this...
HI Newbie and welcome aboard!
RTTs can be cold in the winter months, but they are much better than sleeping on the ground. In my Columbus tent I stuck two old black high density backpacking sleeping mattresses under the RTT's mattress. The really helped to keep heat from dissipating. I also...
I tried out my new RTT down in southern Utah a couple weeks ago. We were down with the Old Farts Expedition folks. Wet, muddy, and wonderful. The new tent and attached side room was perfect. Not a drop of rain on the inside the entire 9 days we were gone. The trailer is small and light and...
Got back from an Old Fart's expedition to southern UT a couple weeks ago. The rig and trailer worked pretty well. Need to get some 16"-17" wheels and tires under the trailer though, ha ha!
As an addendum to everything written and shown here so far, I went on this trip thinking it would be the last one I would do with my beloved dog Tucker. Well, I just got back from the WSU vet hospital in Pullman, WA. The doc was only able to find one mast cell in Tuck's bloodwork this morning...
I recently finished that book. In one word, outstanding! I was down there with the Old Farts Expedition about two weeks ago and we got the rain you missed. Still had a great time.
Excellent pics and posts guys! I'll try to get something going soon. SWMBO has me buried in honey-do's at the moment. Tucker says "bark bark (hello)!" to everyone.
I had a 2000 Taco XCab that I bought new and ran for 10 years over all kinds of roads and in all kinds of weather. I should never have sold it. I did replace the ****ty bench seat with two sportier aftermarket seats. I also added a OME suspension. I covered the box with a heavy duty Raven...
Still having fun with this bike. I picked up an original mini-wind fairing and hand guards for it. Once I get them painted they will be mounted. Will also be installing a new Garmin powered mount for my Montana GPS, along with a voltmeter and a couple USB ports. I found a set of slightly...
