I rode in a nice 550 fancy executive bus last week. I asked the driver why gas and not diesel. He laughed said he got that question all the time. He said they had 4 gassers and two Diesels. He said both Diesels are in the shop for any number of mechanical issues every few weeks. The 2014 we were...
Just put the OB, Forester on the list. Both offer better power and space. Though keep in mind the current Forester sits on the Impreza platform so its load rating is much lower than the larger Legacy/OB platform.
I like the Panama Jack hats coolest hat and only hat I can stand to wear in the heat. But they fold up in 8mph breeze. I gave up and just deal with it. All the heavier hats are too damn hot.
Same here. We had to move from the LC mainly for space we had 5 we were hauling almost daily and the LC was ok but for trips it was too tight and 10-12mpg sucked. One drive in the gen 1 Sequoia it was obvious we needed to swap to that. But we lost gramps over a yr ago our 5th passenger. Also...
05 Sequoia which is basically a big 4runner with the 4.7. We did a 2700 mile 9 day Yellowstone/Teton trip in June. Sleek roof box plus 900lb 4x6 in tow we had a solid 15mpg from Reno to West Yellowstone thats a 70-80mph stretch. Sans trailer all the park driving 30-45ish we saw 21mpg. Going home...
My 28ft sailboat I have two group 31 marine batteries and a 15amp max output shore power charger. The boat also has a dedicated house power/shore power circuit that powers standard 110 house hold wall plugs. But this is pulled off the shore power and tied to a breaker panel and is a stand alone...
No you would need whats basically a fancy battery charger, RV guys call them a confusing name "converter" the marine guys call them battery chargers. LOL You plug shore power into the charger, then this charger powers / charges your 12v system. Dont confuse this with house power plugs or powered...
We base camped it in one spot for 6 days Madison Campground. The camp host said we were a rare case given most people were highly transient two nights being about the max stay. So we had allot of new camp neighbors. We were always gone all day as was everyone else. All our camp neighbors about...
The width of the back seat (2nd row) is wide plenty comfortable for 3 across.
My only thoughts are the 4.7 which I have in the Sequoia. And the short wheel base vs your 24ft RV trailer. The 4.7 is a nice engine but your limits on towing are 5000lbs and it starts working hard in the 3500-4000...
I have a 70lb Red American Doberman. 4 yrs old. Like your Lab he wants to be with the kids. In our 2010 Subaru OB I put one of the kids duffel bags on the floor center to fill the foot well. He then happily provides the back seat referee, snuggle buddy and loud snoring comic relief. In our...
Only big complication is the toaster oven. Drop that from your list, use a camp stove. A good quality deep cycle marine battery in the larger range 85-90+ amp hours and 80watts of solar would easily meet your needs. Skip the big inverter, just add a 12volt socket to use a small cheap inverter...
They sell a few in the boating world but those boats are worth 5x what a 99 jeep is worth. As I said months ago even a 10hp converted Tractor engine for my boat is a $8000 minimum outlay. And the install is far far more simplified over a jeep install.
Your better off picking up a junkyard diesel
I said option not only choice. Where I and many others camp a generator is just a annoying costly added item to haul around. AC is great for those who camp in RV parking lots and or enjoy generators.
Yup lol
The US CG weights were updated last yr for aircraft and boats. 180lbs per adult vs 160. Were all getting bigger but maybe not in the right way LOL
