Hurry and you'll shut down Airstreams attempt to get younger buyers into their brand. They have a fiberglass egg thing similar type of look in development. But knowing them they'll kill it with a stupid high price.
Dont get the cross trek its great for super light back packer one or two people but is way too small regarding space and payload. I have the outback its a great size and load range for two person rrt semi light kit. i.e leave the kitchen sink at home trip. We tow our Lifetime Tent trailer with...
I like your max plus design. Question? Is it possible to get a stretched 14ft box/version of the Max plus? I dont need double axle Adventurer level cargo capability, but having that extra length would allow me to park one or two of these racing dinghys in it for regatta trips...
Umm yea my group started a tech office there in 96 long before it became the rage. We bought a retired 3 ton army truck to use as the office transport after two of us ended up through a store front in a hired car after being hit by another car. Fast there is like 30mph and rarely ever seen given...
Even in 2011 I had some challenges tracking down some J80 parts. They were out there but not exactly in active circulation. It wouldnt surprise me if parts get near impossible to find in the near future.
The GM weight loss was probably many parts that were upgraded for the NA version both to shed weight and help put them in the top mileage bracket with the diesel. The frame is probably different for the NA version due to crash standards more than anything else.
Also payload numbers over seas vs...
Arent the decks 2x6 planks? My trailer isnt a jumping jack but it came out of the same shop and the deck is 2x6 planks which are locked into place by the rear crossmember.
It will be interesting to see what Ford does. Especially given they fear that the Ranger a higher cost / lower profit vehicle for Ford will gut the F150 sales.
I went from a 93 J80 to a 05 Sequoia. Only reason was for seating space and secondary was more modern crash safety hauling family and all etc. I was invited by the Gwagon crew to join them on a trail run just outside the Rubicon. 100% stock Sequoia on fresh BFG Rugged Terrains, oh and soccer mom...
I think as the 200's get older and move on to 2nd and 3rd owners they will be more common on the trail. Even the 1% types dont like paying big $'s for a trail rig that gets beat up and trashed. Hell the really wealthy types I know drive Range Rovers bought at Auction for nickles on the dollar.
My take is go full size and get the highest payload rating 150/1500 sized rig. If your into tight trails add a small light weight trail bike to a hitch rack given you have payload ;-). Then ride trails even tight trails easily, then return to a decked out camp with your glamper gear👍
Or go through iterations of gear to streamline go time and setup/teardown time to increase the odds of making trips. I love our current trailer but its set up and tear down time drives me crazy. Im digging the simple Intech RV trailers but I need to suffer a few more trips before I'm convinced...
They are light cars especially compared to the old Pathy. Thats the twitchy feel and quick brake response too. Its essentially a boxy Civic they are light vehicles compared to the midsized SUVs.
I had the same take as you after spending a weekend with one. Good local town ride but kinda light...
The reason this has become a very typical dealer practice is due to customers never bothering to ask questions, and also read their owner service manual that lists each thing that needs to be done at roughly x mileage. Oil changes at the dealer include a quick check of brakes and other systems...
When dealers do Warranty related work its done at a low prefix price / labor rate. Dealers hate warranty work because regardless of how long it takes their reimbursement is a fixed price. Not only that but if the dealer is big on "dealer service packages xxxx mile service etc" that tech time...
The head gasket thing is way long ago delt with. My 01 was ********** dead center of that mess. Subaru fixed it zero cost to me at 62k ad it was still going strong well past 180,000 hard miles.
My 2010 EJ same engine but highly tweaked and perfected from the 01 EJ I had is a completely different...
