I priced out the the individual parts vs the Powertank package, and did not find significant savings. Perhaps I did not find the best vendors, and maybe could have found less expensive options. At any rate, I did opt for the convenience of a complete package. 10lbs will easily last me 2-3...

Really interesting thread. I too do estimation, but for a completely different industry. Anyhow the calculation are similar. A fixed/firm price project includes minimum ROI and risk calculations. Otherwise, it is just bad business.

I carry mine in my Jeep as part of my tool kit. I lash them to a cargo net separating the rear from the back seat.

Thanks again for this recommendation. I went to Sierra Expeditions today. Nice facility. Will was very helpful. Took all of ten minutes to fill my tank. But, otoh, drooling over the Howling Moon tents is most definitely not good for my pocketbook. :)

Good point on the fender lights. My fenders are ... um ... a bit worse for wear.
