The Lunchbox Build... 4x4 chevy shorty van

I sneak past the po-po every day in this pig. You should be ok. Aren't you gearing up for a move to Colorado, or Alaska, or somewhere? Seem to recall that being the goal back when.

Yup.... I'm a sucka for........... Flash lights..... (ARB AR-1)

I've been digging the OLights lately. Seem to be a pretty solid light and not bank busting. I like the little S10 Batons as an EDC light. Pops into your pocket small enough you don't notice, but it packs a solid punch for a little bugger. I have OLights scattered about the house and 1...

    Rusty floor repair question

I've used machinery paint before. Some of that crap is tough, and if you pick the right color you'd never know it wasn't automotive. Did a Jeep in red once and it was stellar.

    Rusty floor repair question

How long do you intend to keep it? To me there isn't a whole lot of difference time wise between option 1 and 2. A cheap harbor freight 4" grinder with a good wire wheel on it will speed up the cleaning process enough to justify tanking option 2. So if you intend to keep it, option 1. If...

    1985 Scrambler in VA 22k

Are you advertising this on any of the Jeep specific sites like fsj.com or cj-8.com? Either of those is chock full of Jeep fan-boys, and fan-boys are where the money is. :)

    Max Tire no lift (sorry!)

I don't think a neutral backspace on a 9" rim will leave you hanging out too much with that tire. I'm running 12.5s in the front now on a 9" rim with only...3.25? 3.5? Don't remember exactly. They did hang out but not "that" bad. Your tires will be considerably narrower, still on a 9"...

    Max Tire no lift (sorry!)

Pretty sure this was the tire size that was on my ambo when I bought it and they ran without issue. Of course mine only compares to yours in the front. I could fit bigger in the rear because of the ambo box, but my guess is the front is the only place you're concerned about anyway.

You can find a copy of dang near anything in China. King Burger, OFC chicken (that one is funny. Look them up), Sunbucks Coffee and Bucksstar Coffee, Mike' sneakers and on and on. Seems like the only brand they haven't ripped off but actually did right is Hooters. I mean, what would they...

    Stockton Wheels.....the latest dope.

I wouldn't recommend the recentered Hmmv Wheels, price wise he's not too far off with the Stocktons and he can get them however he wants them. The military tires are getting harder to find in good condition and the prices are on the upward trend to stupid. Retail choices in the 16.5 category...

The Toyo MTs in the 13.5/17 flavor clock in with a 4300# max load. That's 450# more per tire than I have now. Online I can find them at about $330 delivered which is a dang sight better than anything I've found in the 16.5 variety. That's some handy info there. There's probably tires in...

    2008 Ford E350 V10 4WD

Yeah I hear that. There must be some sort of buyers curse or something because it seems like 90% who agree to buy then suffer some family/financial/physical/psychology tragedy riiight at the last minute that prevents them from closing the deal. You'd have probably regretted selling anyway...

    UJOR Build Thread

Thanks for the tire info Chris but I asked a poorly delivered question. What I was hoping to find out is which rim size offers the best and most economical choices in tire sizes, 16", 17" , etc. Good to know though on the Toyo. Those exceed the rating of what's on there now and I wouldn't...

Holy crap man. Was there something unusual about yours? I can't remember exactly without looking it up but as I recall both of mine came to less than $1K delivered. I had to install but that was gravy work.

:wings: Got a question. I'd imagine you did a bunch of research on tires/wheels when setting on your combos of choice. If I wanted something in a 37" tire, what do you think has the best selection while keeping economy in mind, for the wheel diameters? 17", 18", etc. I'm not sure I want...

    Living with a Powertank

I hear you on the unprepared. I went a charity run once and couple guys showed up in a ratty *** Jeep they bought just down the road for $500. Like 30 minutes before this thing kicked off. Rusted, busted, and with slipping chain in the quadratrac. The only tool they had was cooler full of...

Battery operated impact driver vs. pneumatic

I think air operated trail tools are over rated and were more of a "gee whiz" thing, back when OBA itself was a gee whiz thing, than a practical tool. Most air tools chew through cfm faster than any practical compressor you're likely to cart around, and the same with co2 sourced air. Any...

Well in and of itself this is just smart business. I had a worthless shell company around something myself, mainly to protect ME. It's one thing to have business, have it fail, and lose whatever is connected to it, but if you let yourself and all your personal holdings go down with it you are...

Patents can be a complete joke, based completely on voodoo technology, requiring only that you convince the reviewer at the patent office that you know what you're talking about.

Ah. I was wondering what it was about because I can't quite wrap my head around what you could patent about a dual layer plastic box with a foam core. I have a serious question. What exactly is so innovative about a Yeti, or any similarly designed cooler, that warrants that monster price...
