That's an understatement! For some reason I picture some old *** Arab oil sheik driving that thing. Looking at it I'm not sure if I should feel impressed, or ill. :)
Those are nice functional mass produced (sort of) units. I'm more interested in the one-offs by the shade tree mechs working out of their garages. That's where the real creativity is.
I've got an '05 F-350 CC dually that was changed over to a flatbed. It's your basic ugly as a bag of hammers black flatbed and I'd like to spruce it up someway, but I am creatively challenged. Any pics of cool/unusual flatbed designs would be appreciated.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't spend the 5-7k (plus?) that seems to be the going rate for a top either. My take has always been that if I'm inside the thing I'm either sitting or laying down, standing up only to get in or out, so headroom for me was never a thing.
The closest I've seen is somewhere on this site, but it was a DIY unit, and only covered 2 bases. It was a flatbed utility trailer with short side rails and the owner made a slide in camper box. My guess is you're on your own, or have it special built.
I get what you're saying but at most campgrounds any motorcycle/mini-bike/moped type stuff, basically anything with an engine, are unwelcome. And I can't say I disagree with that, because there's always that One Guy. Ran into that at Disney a couple years ago. Golf carts are supposed to be...
I'm kicking around the idea of a couple of rad powerbike folding minis for the wife and I. I'm looking to unload my 5th wheel camper and pick p a diesel pusher instead, and considering I'll need to cart her minivan around they probably make a bit more sense then trying to figure out how to fit...
You and me both brother. There isn't a bike on the planet I'd spend that kind of cash on, not even half, but then I think most of the "adventure" type trailers on this site are priced so high their builders must be in crack. But people buy don't they?
Beside all that, I think the last...
If you don't mind pedaling there are some e-bikes out there with decent range for a days use, and about half the cost of those motopeds. Truth be told though, I'm still kind of jonesing for the zombie apocalypse version. :)
Wouldn't be interested in a trade honestly. I'll not have another tent without a trailer to put it on. Did that before, didn't like it. If you're interested in the trailer I'll shoot you a pic or 2, and then decide if I really want to part with it. I sold one already and they're getting...
I had a rtt, minus the clearance issues in the garage, but still didn't dig it on the roof of my junk. Pain in the butt if I wanted to run off somewhere from camp.
So...a conundrum. Buy your tent, or sell you my M-416? Hmmm. :)
Nah. Too much chance for a perceived bias. What he should do is ship to me. Then I'll take it on an around the country shakedown, free of charge except for expenses, and report back at the end of the estimated 2 years a solid and thorough shakedown would most likely require. I'm willing to...
Clearwater area is her preference. She kind of fell in love with it because I think it reminds her of home. Her home in Japan had an ocean view from one end, and a view of Kobe city from the other.
Last summer we beat-feet out of Ohio right after the kids got out of school, say first week-ish...
