Well, ended up not taking a bunch of photos because we were busy having fun. But here are a couple:
First, this is how the trailer sits on a 3rd gen (2016+) tacoma with the OME dakar leafs (Icon coilovers with King springs front) and running 285/70 or 33inch tires.
Here is the view we had...
Yeah, we "drag" the trailers through everything. And when we go to Mexico and spend 4-5 days on the beach away from any civilization, we bring all the food (usually about 6-8 people,) fuel, water, booze, etc. so we're loaded and heavy. So any extra flotation is good. Same trailer, different jeep...
I will disagree with this. I have gotten into a few situations with my trailer where the sidewall of the tire rubbed against a side of the mountain, tree, rock, etc. so sidewall strength is the most important to me. Secondly, it's the added clearance on the trailer to help get over the said...
Just for ******ts and giggles... Wonder how many people I confused the hell out of driving this setup to Flagstaff from Phoenix. :)
And no, I didn't take the hoe camping. Just wanted to work on the trailer over the long weekend in nice, cool temps so I attached it to our Tactical Baby Transport...
I have and use both. We actually have 3 of these systems with different antennas as well as their larger pro system in my office. For static trailers I have a directional antenna and generally use an app to find where the closest tower is and point it that way. For your application the omni...
Oh wow, that really must have sucked. I had mine delivered to my house and the delivery semi backed right up to my house and just used a lift gate and his pallet jack to take it down. How the heck did they not have a forklift? Is there a Cali regulation against using them? (Sorry had to.) Glad...
I use these at work for our jobsite construction trailers and it works great. You may have to space the antennas out a little more from each other though to make it work better. I know I did.
Sorry, I do not have a good photo of it right now. Mine is resting on the eye bolts (dremeled the board down a bit there to be flush) and on the fender. I did drill a hole in the fender and the board is had tight bolted to it with a round head bolt and a wing nut on the bottom.
For any of the lurkers on here that want to get the scout but are not willing to wait here is an alternative: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Ecocampor-4wd-Overland-Small-Lightweight-Offroad_60780760726.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.42.7b8f14d3foM40f
So our trailers come with electric brakes, which is great. But neither my Jeep, nor my Tacoma (or my PPV Tahoe for that matter) have a brake controller built in. Plus, if I let one of my buddies borrow the trailer for the weekend, most drive jeeps, 4Runners and Tacomas as well. So I figure I'll...
what? why are they not being sold? DOT issue has been cleared up, I got a sticker with a VIN that I won't even need because I had it registered as homebuilt as they originally intended...
