    Project MTN SAR: 2001 UZJ100

Does AO have a US vendor these days? I thought that slee was the only place to get their gear, but he stopped selling their stuff awhile back.

    Sponsored by Slee Offroad

Another plug for an outstanding vendor. I have had nothing but great experiences with slee products and customer service. Just wondering, why did TLCA drop their support?

Choosing between a LC or a LX

I Prefer the simplicity of the LC stereo and the extra cubby hole in the center console. That being said, in this case I would also go with the LX...

Did I Find The Holy Grail Of The 80 Series ?

Dave, Good points on most things, but the vast majority of unused lockers will work on their own given 30 minutes or so of exercise..

    5Runner's 5Cruiser Build Thread

The 80 series doesn't have rear air and the 2nd row passengers stay comfortable....Can you shut off the rear AC and see how it feels in the 2nd row? If enough air is getting through, then chuck the rear AC unit....

97 40th Anniv. Locked Mall Rig "What next?"

How often will all of your gear be in the Cruiser? If you get a set of springs tuned for carrying all that, but drive it a good deal without all of the gear you may end up with a harsh ride. I have the TJM heavies--slightly lower spring rate than OME, but I also use airlift bags in the rear...

    Seatbelt = New Rig?

Not trying to be argumentative, but if you look at 1:25-1:28, The cars are lined up so that the front left frame rail in the Bel air has little effect. While this is a totally plausible crash scenario, it is probably the worst case scenario for the Bel air. Shift the point of impact a little...

    Possible Truck Trade

I'll have to disagree with Terry on the transmission. The 4l60E was used on tahoes, suburbans etc, and was instrumental in perpetuating GMs rep for building bad transmissions. Easily as unreliable as the 700R4, just more complicated. That being said, the weight of this truck is a lot less...

    LC vs. Sequoia

It is impossible for any car maker to make ALL good cars. I am sorry that you got the lemon of the bunch. There are Land cruiser Lemons too. The reason that I will buy almost any toyota is that the chances of it being a lemon are much lower than with any other MFG. I didn't mean to sound...

    LC vs. Sequoia

I have an 01 Limited 4wd with 135k and agree that it drives nice. I will also agree that the build quality is not as high as it could be, BUT.... 1. You are supposed to turn off the overdrive when towing. Says so in the Manual IIRC.... 2. My paint is just fine. 3.My seats are just fine 4. My...

    Help a newbie - 4Runner v. Cruiser

Your advice about the 80's suitability for towing is spot on. Your words about the the 80 are crap. Nobody is advising him to get an 80 based on his follow up posts. He was looking for something more capable in his original post and the 80 fit the bill. It no longer does. Why keep talking...

    LC vs. Sequoia

Aftermarket support for the Sequoia is ok. Armor is hard to come by, but lifts are pretty easy. All sequoias have the VSC, but you have to get a 2000 or newer on an LC....

    Help a newbie - 4Runner v. Cruiser

Henry, You didn't spark any of this, SHotts has a long reputation of camping out on his soapbox and saying that every vehicle that is not a 100 series LC is a POS. Anyhow, based on what you have posted, you really can't go wrong either way. How big is the trailer that you are towing? The...
