The SG has 35's- saw it today when picking up the TReK- runs/rides nice David!! Might have to start thinking gears and lockers next ;-)

another good point to note- the TReK is uncut in the wheel wells, while the SG is. Look at the distance from the top of the flair to the body crease- especially the rear. This is another reason D-IIs look to be out of level with a higher gap in the front than the rear... the wheel well itself is...

part of the illusion is being tail light/high after trimming and no bumper... Nothing a few hundred pounds of armor and supplies can't cure ;-) The D-II behind it is higher yet.

Just an aside as I am a day late- avoid P rated tires for anything beyond highway. And another option that I run on my LR3 is 265/70-18 for little taller thinner tire, which also yields a touch better fuel economy...

Not worth the cost of shipping both sets, but I have a near new set of 245s BFG commercial tires, would sell reasonably, and not too bad to ship ifwe just label each tire, which I have done many times. PM if interested.

From my experience, it all depends on the driver, and the application of the vehicle. A few years ago, me and my brother drove a 130 to Brownsville, Tx from NC. Then on to Guatemala, Belize, and back. We did the same trip years ago on motorcycles, yet I digress... Anyway, the Tdi 130 did...

I had the same problems, and ended up going the retractable step route. It drops down when the door opens, allowing kids and wifes easy access. While it doesn't protect the rockers, it does get up out of the way and provides much more clearance. Here is a pic of my F-250 with the steps...

I have used the Toyo A/T II and the Cooper S/T Maxx with great results- and all E rated as well. And use them on a diesel tow rig, so decent torque, weight, distance, etc to evaluate.
