unURBAN Adventures - Alaska to Argentina to AFRICA!

The 3L diesel in his Patrol is turbo'ed and I do believe intercooled also. It is a small engine and his truck is very heavy plus has 37's. If he had the 4.2L TD it would be much better but still being a heavy truck with big tires it wouldn't break any speed records. Oh and I am on my 2nd drive...

    Pan Am Bum Rush!

The internet is rather slow here in Santa Catalina and it is very hot at the cafe'. On top of that I have been trying to get my house in order here. It was very filthy when I arrived and no power. I added up my fuel for the trip south.....330gals. to do 4600 miles. Yeah, my Taco gets bad...

Maybe.....but I am in that group of selfish people. My favorite places in Mexico are along the west coast. A truely awesome place that can only be seen to be believed. Some day I plan to drive that stretch of coast again. Cheers E&M, journey on and stay safe!

    Pan Am Bum Rush!

So..... we made it well into Guatemala. We did not make it to Antigua today. There is some kind of holiday in Mexico (and possibly more of Latin America) which involves people running a torch down the road. I guess I could look it up and see what this holiday is, just have not had much time for...

    Pan Am Bum Rush!

I suppose this is a a good question depending on where you sit...... #1, I have lived in JH for 15yrs. Many winters spent snowboarding, including a number of record winters. ALL winters spent riding I logged over 100 days. #2 this as I understand is a travel forum, paticuarly travel by...

    Pan Am Bum Rush!

This won't be to much of a trip report but should be some fun pictures and info.... I left Jackson Hole Wyoming on Tuesday December 7th at 8pm. I had so many last minute things to do I was at least 12hrs behind my schedule. As a result I had no choice but to drive 24hrs straight from Jackson...

    Aussie Locker for C200K differential

That 720 C200 is very similar to the 160 series Patrol C200. Some if not most parts interchange. Same era trucks and all though....

    Aussie Locker for C200K differential

I take it that the C200K is to different from the C200's put in Patrols? Otherwise you could use or modify the Patrol C200 locker(s).

    Mr. Leary's 3rd gen 4runner

Yup pretty common on any truck to have failing alts if you play in mud & water. That silty water stuff is the worst! For this very reason we went with a custom high mount on the diesel in my Patrol, that is as high as we could possibly get it and still be able to close the hood! as you...

    Tacoma Ball Joint Recall '01-'04

yeah, now you have got me thinking a lot about this..... I just put in a call to the dealership and they pulled up the entire service history on my truck. Lower BJs were replaced in this recall in December of 06! That is before I bought the truck but it has been done... Stoked!
