I got the bolts from the metric stainless section at Ace. I used Nyloc nuts and I can't recall the hex size, but there's one that fits perfect in that channel. When I did the fiberglass topper, I used t-nuts on the inside where the walls were fairly thick and rubber washers on the outside. The...
Here's my current setup. I've had this attached to several different toppers.
I make all my brackets from Home Depot hardware using a bench vise, a hammer and a file. Framing brackets work great.
The rear one is simply bolted flush to the topper.
Used this bracket. Ends are mounted and...
Working on the electrical this week. Trying to find a good way to run wiring in this setup has been a little tricky. I settled on something a bit overkill, but that I find works great.
The conduit is cheap and easily shaped with a heat gun. The boxes are great for installing switches.

I wish it did... Nope, I filled the holes in the bumper with JB weld and then smoothed it out with some Bondo. I don't recommend this approach unless you have a lot of patience.
I bought a beat up looking limited grille on eBay and refinished it. They fortunately, do not have the chrome on them.
It was nice to get out for a few days. I took 285 through Buena Vista and down to St. Elmo. From there, headed up to Tin cup Pass and found some great camping along the river.
It's a fairly rocky and bumpy ride with a few tricky spots, but other than that just a slow going fun scenic trip. The...
Finishing up the few last changes I wanted to make and preparing for a weekend trip along US 285 here in Colorado. I haven't been out that way much beyond Pine in some time, so I'm hoping to do a bit more exploration. Suggestions always welcome.

I don't see why you can't make the current setup work. I think the holes in the fender would make a great mount for a sheet of plastic, metal or rubber. Curve it up and attach to the opposite mounting holes. Hell, mount some tabs on each side and fabricate a bolt in setup.
It's a 34" bar, also advertised as 180w. With some fender washers installed on the back, it feels pretty solid. A metal plate might help, but the bumper is so flexible as is I'm not really sure. I'm hoping to test it out for vibration soon, but I think it'll be good as is. As for the mirrors...
Working on a bit of personalizing and deblinging this week.
Felt like ditching the chrome, so here's some mirror cap painting.
Don't mind the mess... Had a valve fail on a spray can and it well, sprayed...and sprayed.
Back on the truck. I like the look, though maybe I should've matched the...
I'm not too familiar with this 555 stamp. Got a link?
I've been looking at Sankei parts recently. Noticed some mention 555 with the brand name.
Also, for OEM parts I've found Boch Toyota has pretty good pricing in my part searches.

I've had a Yellowtop 34/78 in the back of my truck since early 2013. It runs my ARB fridge and keeps charge with a 100w solar panel. I haven't had any issues yet, but on these really hot days I think I could use a little extra juice either in battery or solar charging.
