    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

It's getting pretty hot out, so I'm back to trying ways to keep the truck cooler. Making the topper as 'livable' as possible for weekend or extended trips always becomes challenging in the summer. Today I installed a thermostat switch on the vent fan. It turns on at about 100°f and off at...

    seanpistol's 01 Tundra

Had I kept my '02 Tundra... I would have had some crazy ideas for it. Had a friend in need though, and I just got a rebuilt title for it.

You guys are brave... This white Tundra won't be joining the party. :D

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Thanks. I'll look for them next time I stop in. The brush guard is pretty stout, but also needs a good clean up and repainting. I'll probably keep it at least until I can find something else or go with a bumper build. I really wish you could still buy the Defiant light bars that were around...

I told my wife I want a set of these.

When she sees them on the table with the price tag, you might need a set of something else..

Thanks for the pointer. I had planned to do that initially, but couldn't find my locktite at 2am. Probably pull it in the garage tonight and redo them. Been checking them constantly!

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

A few issues of note with the polywall. It doesn't clean as well as I hoped. In fact, it stains really easily. Here some dirty fingerprints turned into a mess when I tried cleaning it. The hot weather is also causing it to ripple and in some places lose adhesion. It looked great initially. I...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Got the OME's in place. Removing the bolts for the lower ball joint was a mess. Them suckers didn't want to give. I even managed to bust a socket. Added the diff drop this morning, but really don't like the spacers given for the rear of the skid plate to clear the diff. Those are going to...

NEW SOLAR SETUP GOOD PANEL PRICES?

I'm not a fan of kits. I think you can do better assembling your own. It's easy enough. I'm using this panel. It's been working great several years now. http://www.renogy-store.com/Renogy-100W-12V-Mono-Solar-Panel-p/rng-100d.htm Might try the flexible next time...

It was recommended by Toytec for my application. I'm also adding an airlift system with it.

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

The truck is looking great. Those clean lines are really making me hate the brush guard I have on mine.

Stopped by Toytec. Got some OME coilovers, diff drop and 1.5" blocks..

Haha... love the "expo" marker. Was that intentional or coincidental?

    COMEUP Winch Official Thread

I looked at one of these a while back, but went another direction. One thing I really like to see with any winch offered is the availability of replacement parts. I feel more confident in the winch and company when I can order any necessary repair parts through their website. It helps with the...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I couldn't find a brand name on mine anywhere, only a metal serial tag on the driver side front corner. I figure I'll always have a topper on the truck so any paint rubbing from a boot is more of a trade off. I'll stop in one of the places that carry multiple brands and see if they can identify...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Love the bamboo panels for the rear platform. I keep seeing these at Home Depot and trying to think of what I can use them for. Awesome work.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

The solid window in the shell is bugging me.. I really want to be able to use the fan to cool the cab as well, so I'm looking at options to replace that solid piece of glass and open it up to the cab. I found a remote switch panel for the fan on ebay that I plan to mount in the cab. I have one...

Yep.. Seemed like a perfect use of that space. Great place to stash stuff. I use it to store my snow peak table and legs, towels and clothing.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I had several different mounting brackets for the panels, but ended up just using four bolts with fender washers, rubber washers, spacers and nylock nuts and then sealing it up with sikaflex. I wanted to keep the panel lower to the roof line. The fan is serious overkill, but works amazing. Turn...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Been a bit slow on updates here, but there has been some progress. Ventilation has always been my greatest frustration with truck toppers. No screwing around this time. Fan-tastic fan installed. Not sure of the exact model. It has the power open/close option. Installed the 100w solar panel...
