Pure Outdoor - Emperor coolers - sold on MonoPrice - anyone? Nothing from me, looked interesting.
Post over on Mud got me peering over there, didn't know Monoprice had an 'outdoor' section at all.
Phil - it's Todd - I'll take it. I'm overdue for getting a bottle jack adapter from you anyway (for my GX, not for my 80) so will get both from you at once.
Will ping you offline, thx.
Thx C-Fish. Agreed, the bags are different - shot a note over to Rhino Rack (thx for that).
I've found two options for bag replacements but no domestic US sources, hoping these guys come through or it's off to a local awning company for some sewing (thx skygear, good idea).
take care....
I'm trying to locate a replacement bag for my US-passenger (RH) side Foxwing awning. I've found one for LHS awnings here but so far no luck with an RHS equivalent.
Anyone know of a source?
thx...
Still bored, still surfing, just sharing - Susie is taking OBO, might be a chance for someone seriously looking to get a deal (not trying to sound like a jerk) - http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/tro/5877965160.html
Great work, thx for sharing. Who needs fancy 3D drawings anyway? :)
If you plan to get it onto any "rough" terrain, a few thoughts jumped out at me (just my $.02):
maybe gusset weld all those box frame/tongue connections (all those 90-degree welds) to help prevent any rotation of the tongue...
Gents - great setups!
dnellas - thx for the continuous updates as you make little tweaks.
Semi-Hex - if you have more details/pics of your 32-gallon setup and larger wheel/tire setup, please share. For the matching wheels you're running, what did you do to get that done?
If I ever...
That trip and the update you shared from your wife......it really doesn't get better than that. Thanks again for continuing to share.
Wrapping up my GX470 build soon, still pondering a trailer and your latest update definitely swings the vote heavily in favor of getting one :).
The one I saw was shorter, like this (NOT the 4' height that their website takes you to that you noticed).
They seem pricey ($3K) from what I've seen them listed for.
Tow vehicle will be a GX470.
Good idea to send them a request for what that lid would support, I shot them a note.
Added a poll above....
I saw one of these today in a parking lot on my way home. Spent a few minutes looking at it, appears to be a well made little unit.
Axle and wheel/tire swap and off you go with your overland trailer (don't know if it'd support an RTT or not). Anyone care to comment...
Thx for this, that helps.
Just buzzed through your build thread. Quite an extensive undertaking there......nothing better than having a passion, some time, and the ability to weld some aluminum :).
THANK YOU for the feedback. So not a setup that would accommodate a bunch of camp boxes (general thought) but will hold some relatively small/relatively flat items. Great to know....
The thought of having and using one of these darn campers is keeping me up at night......can't wait!
both mentioned are in consideration (i really am trying to go "nimble" because we do move base camp a bit so setup/take down times are also part of the calculus.....i'm admittedly being a bit more picky than is possibly useful)
camping in inclement weather, never a first choice but when you get...
