    Quigley Trackbar flaw - solutions?

How long is your trackbar? I'd appreciate if you would measure it for me. On mine (from 2000 E350 Quigley) the trackbar if BEHIND, above and to the right, of the axle housing. It is attached to the cross-member under the engine. It is 25-1/2 long, eye to eye. I could cut and splice/weld a tube...

    Thanks for the info.

    MPG ?

I felt like I was robbed when I found out 8mpg. But only for a day:)

    MPG ?

Yes, it is known that the Windsor 5.8s are thirsty under load and like to run at high RPM, out of overdrive. And it does rev really very well, sounds awesome, at the expense of mpg. For the 100-mile test drive, I drove it like that pushing it, flirting if it would even start to knock. It drives...

    MPG ?

Absolutely, I will be monitoring mpg over a longer haul. I was just surprised when I topped off my tank at just below half-mark! I said: ************************ where did the gas go? 12 gallons and I've just driven 100 miles since I last topped off (My rear tank is 22 gals, and front takes 18).

    MPG ?

Bumped the timing The timing advance is now set to 15 degrees. It was quite difficult to find the middle-ground (13 or 14). Topped off the tank and test drove it. I observed no knock at all. I didn't notice any change in performance either. We'll see, after another 100 miles, how the timing...

    Quigley Trackbar flaw - solutions?

I've completed my E250 4x4 conversion - transplanted the Quigley 4x4 parts from a 2000 E350 Quigley. The problem is that the trackbar is too close to the upper webbing of the front axle housing and it hits the axle over even mild potholes. The trackbar needs to be shortened by 3 inches in...

    MPG ?

9000lbs is pretty heavy. It has solid oak cabinetry, 2 gas tanks and a 25 gal water tank. Dual house batteries and a 3000W inverter. And the waste tank, which was/is empty when I weighed it. Oh, and I forgot the propane tank which has just a little propane in it. I have not tested its 4x4...

    MPG ?

My e250 4x4 conversion is complete (well, without fox shocks - next upgrade). It' a 9000# beast. 8mpg! Fully loaded. Is that normal for a 4x4 5.8L (recently rebuilt, stock), E4OD, 4.10 gearing? Next , I'm gonna advance thr timing to 13-14 degrees. Thanks in advance for comments on the mpg.

Speedometer cable won't reach transfer case tail housing

Thank you so much; I will be calling him first thing Monday.

Speedometer cable won't reach transfer case tail housing

The stock 1990 E250 2WD speedo cable is 92 inches. With the transfer case added behind the 4x4 transmission I need at least 108 inches to reach the speedo hole in the transfer case tail housing. What baffles me is that the 4x4 F250/350s all specify the 92-inch cable; how could it be long enough...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Jesus at Agile told me they have 3 standard valving: 1. Light 2. Medium 3. Heavy Based on what you say, I'm guessing that any van falls into "built to spec" in one of the three. Based on this, if I would guess, my RV's front would be Medium and the rear a Heavy. Makes sense, or am I...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Swap complete, kind of OK, I've completed my swap, sort of. Without any shock absorbers, it drives fine on flat roads, no low-speed wobble nor high-speed wobble. Of course it rocks like a boat even just on mild bumps, but no wobble. Here are the issues: 1. No shocks yet (pending study of best...

    Converting a 1991 E350 to 4x4?

If only I had known you have it, the Dana 44 TTB would have been OK with me. I have the Quigley Dana 60 there now, so . . . too late.

    Cross-over steering link / bar

Actually, the steering drag link from the 87-97 F350 would have worked better - no reaming; the stud diameters on both sides match the hole in my Quigley axle drag link and that of my E250 pitman arm, per the parts' dimensions. Even a little cheaper. Too late now :-)

    Cross-over steering link / bar

99-04 Exc, F250, F350. And if you replace the center drag link with one from a 99-04, then you don't have to ream the hole. My belated thank you for your idea.

    Cross-over steering link / bar

After calling Quigley, it turns out that the drag link bar/tube is a custom Quigley part. The tie rods are available at auto parts. However, I took a same year F350/Excursion tie rod assembly (long tie rod, adj sleeve and short tie rod) and it fits, with the exception that the hole on the drag...

    Cross-over steering link / bar

I've completed installing the 2000 E350 Chassis Quigley axles and stuff into my 1990 E250 RV. I'm missing the cross-over link that connects the pitman arm to the drag link. Is it a stock part? Or I'll have to fabricate? Or perhaps Quigley may sell the part. The needed length is ~38.125...

    Raising the rear

I already have air bags lying in the garage, I took off from my other truck. What are the pros and cons of air bags vs. replacing the spring packs? Is it OK to be riding 2 inches on bags, while the springs are "slacking"?
