    Raising the rear

I've completed installing the 2000 E350 Chassis Quigley axles and stuff into my 1990 E250 RV. it turned out the rear is one full inch lower. It seems that leaf springs sagged from my donor chassis or the RV is rear heavy. I would like to raise the rear two full inches. (A 3-inch block is...

    Is this power inverter overkill?

Overkill only if you don't pair it with a house battery bank, which even adds up to the weight. I have the Prosine 3.0kw in my 25ft vehicle, a 2.5kw in my E250, both having a 3-stage charger which is a great reason enough to have it, even if you don't power anything.

    Converting a 1991 E350 to 4x4?

OP, I'm in the process of doing the same, converting a 1990 E250 RV. I bought a complete chassis from a 2000 E350 4x4 Quigley Van, and I'm transferring the 4x4 parts - axles, suspension, etc. to the E25. So it's pretty much bolt-on, with the exception of trimming (plasma cut) the under-engine...

    UJOINT./Chris: 4x4 kit for E4OD

I already have a complete setup (4x4 E4OD with transfer case from my Bronco) but I was curious when I saw the TC110 kit at U-Joint's site. I was excited if I didn't have to disable my Bronco.

    UJOINT./Chris: 4x4 kit for E4OD

Do you have a kit for this, without removing the transmission, similar to your TC110?

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Since you've touched on alignment, what's the usual way of adjusting caster? I don't see any cam or bolt on this Quigley thing. For camber, I would think the solid axle is non-adjustable.

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Aren't the front coil springs part of the RIP kit? Not as easy as changjng shocks, but I've done it a few times before.

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Thanks for all the great advice!!! I'll take Chris' advice - make my 4x4 mods and then weigh the vehicle before I drive it to Agile. Then I will decide whether to let Agile do the work or install myself whatever recommended kit they sell me. I'll have to install some shocks that I have in...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Should I get the RIP kit before I install the front drive axle into my van, and install the RIP kit at the same time? Or the RIP is to be installed by Agile only?

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

And btw, I'm removing the rooftop A/C, as it feels the RV is top-heavy; I'm gonna replace it with a split unit with a condenser that mounts either at the rear or under the chassis.

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

Or, after everything is put in place, bring the RV to Agile and let them figure it out?

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

You're right, of course :-), Q put a 3" block at the rear! Where would I order custom leaf springs? What info do I have to give them? Before I order. do I have to have the rear weighed after everything is put in place? I'll look into Agile's RIP.

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

I'm swapping in a Quigley 4x4 setup from an E350 6.8L into my E250 5.8L RV. While I'm there, what would be the best setup for shocks. My 2WD E250 RV of course is the 8100# GVWR chassis but the mfg had installed an overload spring at the rear. When I swap the E350 parts, I will be using the...

Yeah, the high-end Billy Bob's garage specialty.

    Whose 4x4 conversion is this?

Thanks. I'll check the VIN# and call Quigley. I'd like to know also if the BW1356 was converted to manual operation (the motor has been removed, i.e. missing). I would not want a stick sticking out of the RV floor so I'm sure I will devise some way to remotely shift the BW1356, either...

    Whose 4x4 conversion is this?

Yes, they did. It's going to be pretty much a bolt-on swap from the E350 to my older E250 (the axles, suspension brackets, springs, 4-link arms, swaybars, cross members, etc.), although they tack welded some of the bolted brackets to the frame in a couple places - which will be easy to grind...

    Whose 4x4 conversion is this?

Not sure, may well be a 4R100. But I thought E4OD and 4R100 are one and the same, being those in later model years were called 4R100. If you don't mind, please explain the difference(s). I looked at the pan and it looks/shaped like that in my 1990 E250, when 4R100s were still unheard of.

    Whose 4x4 conversion is this?

SDD, yes that chassis was in Craigslist in San Diego for 5 weeks before I snatched it 2 weeks ago. Indeed the van/RV is very unique although it was supposed to be a production RV by BornFree back in the 90s. Any searches in the internet about this 19ft RV returned empty :-(; anyway the inside...
