Battery mounted in the cargo area of an SUV?

Yes I do. Can I run it to my current isolator? Or do I need one specifically set up for 3 batteries? I really suck at electrical. I have a friend who is going to help me with the solar part.

Battery mounted in the cargo area of an SUV?

I'm wanting to mount a battery in the back of my Suburban in the bottom of the spare tire well is. My plan is to weld a battery tray in the bottom of the well, so I can bolt the battery in place. I also plan to build an sleeping platform that will cove the battery, but will still provide a...

    New 1989 GMC Suburban project

Does anyone know where I can get a handle for the tailgate window? It's not available at LMC and the Ebay want's $80. Or should I just search for a power tailgate and take all the parts out of it?

    New 1989 GMC Suburban project

Well my old Suburban has way to much rust, smog, and electrical problems. Decided to buy this suburban and start over. It's a 89 V1500 SLE. It has either 119k or 219k or higher I guess, but it runs really well. Just bought it this morning in the mountains and drove it home 35 miles through the...

    Looking at 92-99 Suburbans

So I have pretty much narrowed it down to 3/4 tons. If you had your choice of fuel injection types on a 454, would you want Vortec or TBI and why? I am leaning towards TBI because I don't tow much weight, and it is easier to work on.

    Looking at 92-99 Suburbans

How durable are this generations of trucks? The one I am looking at is a 1996 3/4 ton with a 454. It has a 175k miles on it. The owner seems to have taken really good care of it. For those who own them, how many miles are you getting before you have had to preform major overhauls (engine...

    Looking at 92-99 Suburbans

I have a 90 right now, but it's to build up to be an family excursion truck. So I am looking at newer suburbans. The best deals seem to be K2500 versions, since the 454 is a gas hog. What are some basics I need to know looking at these trucks? Is the mileage that bad on the 454? Wasn't there...

    A couple FSJ questions.

Just talked to the seller. No AC (understandable), but no heater either???? Does anyone make an AC/Heater unit for it that isn't astronomical in price.

    A couple FSJ questions.

The reason I want to swap axles is that I currently have 4:88's and a detroit in the rear (14 bolt FF and 30-spline 10 bolt front. My engine is tired, but I would just run the 360 until I can rebuild the 350. If I put the jeep springs on top of the axles like the GM, will their be any major...

    A couple FSJ questions.

So I have been looking for a new suv, and came across a 1975 Cherokee, 360, auto, 33" tires for $2500. It looks nice, and I will have to pay a premium for it being pre-smog. I currently have a 1990 Suburban, that is rusted to hell, and won't pass smog. How hard is it to swap the axles under the...

    More Suburban work

FYI, the only difference between a 3/4 ton front axle is the wheel bolt pattern. Otherwise they are the same. If you don't plan on changing gear rations in the axles, just go to the junk yard, and get the backing plates out from a 3/4 ton. Then unbolt your six lug and bolt on the 8 lug.

    Trailblazer tire question

Does anyone know what the largest size tire I can fit on a stock Chevy trailblazer? It has 16" wheels. Goggle has given me a few different answers, so I figured I would ask here since there are at least a couple of Trailblazer owners. Thanks.

    Cheap tent trailer

I'm selling my 1979 Bethany tent trailer. It's old and could use some work, be it's still very usable. The only reason I am selling it is my wife want's something with A/C and hopefully a shower/toilet. The good: - 1 king, 1 double, and the table turns into a double bed. - Stove and heater both...

GM 350 TBI motor build tips?

A lot of the tbi motors came set up for roller cams. When you pull the intake, there should be 4 holes in the middle of the lifter valley. I believe that that indicted a roller cam block.
