Books for camping info, not novels or sci-fi.

These are some OUTSTANDING books to read. I have a few of them but would be broke if i bought them all. https://store.nols.edu/collections/publications Another great read & food for thought; http://www.amazon.com/They-Came-Freedom-Steel-Series/dp/0984296301

    Conserving water tips.

All great advice here. Much of it is specific to what type of camping you do but all good stuff. We camp mostly at state parks & campgrounds & have an 18' camper. Small but has everything we need. I did not think the microwave was a big deal but the more i camp, the more i seem to use it. I...

Auxiliary trans cooler, thermal bypasses and such.

I blew an aux engine oil cooler hose while driving my 2004 2500 Ram. It was like a NASCAR engine blew. I quickly pulled over mashed the brakes & shut it off. Hose was on a barb fitting & it was rated to 300 psi according to Perma-Cool. I walked the rest of the way home. Had enough oil on hand to...

Ram 3500 with 6.4L Hemi or not?

They may be saying "it wont go through" because they would MUCH rather sell one that was already made vs making a new one. I call bs at the dealer/corporate level. Stand your ground.

I have the 18v Lit ion Rigid brand from H D. I absolutely LOVE them. Generation 5X. 7 1/4" circular saw, reciprocating saw, drill/driver/hammer drill, 1/4" impact w/3 settings, 4X drill/driver, pistol grip LED light, reg LED light & 1/2" impact gun. I bought them on sale & used my Military...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

In compressors that are oil lubricated, can full synthetic oil be used ? Is there a difference between compressor oil & motor oil ? If so, why can't it be used ? It seems that full synthetic would certainly flow better at low temps right ? Thanks.

    PW and Raptor Payload Capacities

I wish they would have offered the Eco Diesel with the 34 gal tank I have in my PW. You could go 800-1000 highway miles on a tank !! With the mileage i get, I could use a 64 gal tank !

If you were to start all over with a brand new truck, which would you choose?

Yes, that is a bottom bracket. And, living in Western NY State, i would NEVER purposely buy a vehicle BECAUSE it was aluminum. I have seen aluminum corrode so bad in the salt, thats it's not funny. They are really cheating the public by saying it does not rust. Technically they are correct, but...

NOt as good as the Aussie ones but...

The 2 black handles have since been removed & it has been coated with 4 coats of a high grade polyurethane wood finish (like a gym floor). It is secured to the bed via the front bed tie downs & turn buckles, yet can be completely taken out in 10 minutes. Yes, those are adjustable height legs to...

I have a Vizio 24" flat screen & a blue ray dvd player in it. I went to W-World for the tv $128 & full motion mount $50. It comes out for viewing & can be angled to see from the bed or the dinette & tucked back in out of the way when not needed. When traveling, i take it off (1 screw & unplug...

The "Extreme Package" is really not that extreme at all really. It gives you a 5-6" lift, 15" 235/75/15 tires (not mud terrain tires by any stretch & IMHO a street tread pattern), enclosed underbelly (some kind of plasticized cardboard) but it seems to be well insulated, 6 sided flex foil...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/var-45053 Is this one a LOT better then the one you posted ? I am liking the 100% duty cycle vs the 33%. What exactly does that mean anyways ? It can run indefinitely----or does it mean 30 min on/30 min off ? Or something like that ? Thanks Edit...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

I fear that hard mounting to my truck, it will get destroyed by the NY State winters & salt that goes with em. Can't spray it with Fluid film either to protect it, that would cause it overheat in no time, plus, it is flammable. It also says "mot recommended in sub zero conditions" ??? I think...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

All this talk is way over my high school diploma head, that's for sure. I just don't want to waste $800+ & end up with nothing better than i have now. Space is of concern more than the weight as far as traveling with the truck & camper. Portability is also a HUGE selling point for me. Not all...

Just a quick update: We are still loving this camper so far. Nice to be able to put it in the back yard for winter, so we can have our driveway back (30' toyhauler is what we had). Bed slide is done & in. Not perfect but it works great, can come completely out in 10 minutes. I have had about 500...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

I already got 3 chargers. 1 for the garage, 1 for the house & 1 mounted in the d-side toolbox in the ARE cap. It plugs into my inverter. I also have 8, 4 amp hr batteries & 1, 5 amp hr battery. If the ARB is only sporting 1.8 real cfm @ 90 psi, then what is the difference (cfm wise) between...

ARB CKMTP12 High Performance Twin air kit

I guess that's just the "one is none & 2 is 1" coming out in me. I like to have options. Always be prepared is my moto. I guess the US Army did that to me. Anyways, we plan to get off the beaten path, & we are both pushing 60. I do not want to be stranded on the side of ANY road or in the middle...
