Power Wagon is awesome BUT... F350 with locker is probably better

You are right. Todays auto transmissions gear ratio's are all wrong for gas HD work. They just are. I don't know what the big 3 are thinking here. I know all about C.A.F.E. requirements but still. The gear ratio's are nowhere near where they need to be. They are fine for the massive torque of...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

I gotta get some rock tamers also. My BFG A/T K/O's are HORRIBLE for holding small stones & then ejecting them at warp 10 into anything i tow. Last camper had all kinds of dents in it, even in the diamond plate stuff on the lower front of camper.

    i am need of advice

It is relatively easy to "get in over your head", unless you KNOW the trail. What starts out nice, does not always end that nice. You could go as mild as a Subaru w/lift (as stated earlier) or as wild as a Power Wagon. We own a Power Wagon. They are not for everyone. It sucks gas like nothing i...

    2011 Power Wagon Purchase

The "panhard rod" is not the issue, it is the cheap *** tie rod ends that are on the ends of it that are the issue. As are the factory "rubber isolated' bushings in the track bar & control arms. Cheap ball joints as well. It is this conglomeration of shoddy parts that cause front end issues. It...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/mud-flap-system/66703#readreviews The beauty of these: it works with any & all of your trailers, not just one that has it attatched to the A-frame tongue.

Brought home a 2016 Dodge Power Wagon

No, you are not crazy. 2008 was the last year for the G-56 with the Hemi. Trust me, even IF you can do ALL the work yourself, it is still cheaper to buy a Power Wagon . than try to make something that will never be one. 15k Warn winch almost 2k, mount for winch $400 but it will not work with CTD...

ARB 50qt fridge / freezer question

They are a rugged unit, there is no doubt. Yet the owners manual says to keep it out of the elements. We have an 82 qt & a 50 qt. The 82 qt has been running 24/7 since the day we got it back in Sept (i think). It does double duty as an overflow fridge in the house & in the back of the Power...

Indoor Propane Heater Laws & Safety

I like to have redundant ways for heat when camping. I bought a Big Buddy heater. Tried it once. Never again. Hate the smell/odors & it made my eyes water. I say it is a BIG FAT FAIL for any type of indoor heat. Maybe in a deer blind or something, where there is PLENTY of fresh air, but not in a...

    2017 Super Duty

Frame flex would still concern me if heavily loaded & off roaded. But thats just me. Yes, semi trucks are c channel as well but the steel & cross bar supports are wayyy stronger & wayyy thicker. In my mind, fully boxed, from front to rear, is the only way to go. My first semi truck, (in the...

Dodge RAM 2500 reliability as expedition vehicle vs. others?

Just plan on totally rebuilding the front end. It is inevitable. Do it once, do it right, do it with quality parts. Carli, Thuren, Borgeson, DynaTrac, etc... . I rebuilt the front end of our Power Wagon at 18k. We bought it/ordered it brand new. I am happy with the results. 40k now, no issues...
