My next truck will just run 37s. The 39s are fun and all, but the limited expensive tire choices are kinda a bummer. You can get just about anything you want in a 37x12.5x17 these days.....
Since I never update this thread I figured everyone watching deserves a picture from the day to day life of this truck.....
Pulled a big FedEx box truck out of the ditch on the way home from work today. Those things are kinda heavy and don't really have any tow points ( lame ). It took quite...
The white LJ that AEV converted used a Liberty sourced 2.8 and 545 automatic ( and 242 transfer case and Rubicon axles ). It is a total pain because the diesel engine computer needs a speed signal. In the liberty this came from the ABS computer. There was a a gateway module to help the computers...
I tow things all over with my 1st gen on 39s. No big deal. Mine is just a regular cab longbed. It does sit low for the big tires though. I think that helps.
I wish I could nominate a post for best in the thread. It gave me a great laugh this morning!
The spring and turbo are on the list now, now that the fuel supply is good to go.
What flat fender build? :)

I would rather someone get some use out of them rather than they just sit there....
Pics....
I think they where used two or three times to get up the driveway in the dodge when I first bought it because it only had 2wd. Just your standard twisted link type set of chains.
I haven't found an axle yet. I have been looking for a late model unit with factory disc brakes. They are not THAT cheap or easy to find...
Yes, from what I have read you cannot install a locker in the gov-lok case.
Off road I don't think the holley can keep up with the Autolite just because of the jet position. In the Autolite they are in the very bottom of the bowl close together....on a holley they are on the wall ( metering block ) of the carb body pretty far apart. I think one jet washes out on a...
No spring or turbo yet. I have had the parts on the shelf for a LONG time though :)
The 3.73 thing is just a work around for the late model 14-bolt. If I could find a good deal on a 4.10 version I could be talked into going that way too. If i had factory 4.10 gears I probably would have...
What is the best option for a LARGE group 31 battery these days?
I am looking for an AGM style unit with a good warranty. My old Dodge Cummins is pretty hard on the battery in the winter....
I am not interested in doing with duals or anything. I just want a single big huge battery.....
