    Lockers?

Lockers just get your stuck further from home :sombrero: For some people that is fun....for some people not so much.

Mini test drive this weekend.... I got the carb put back together with the new top cover slosh-o-matic 2000 gasket. The vent plug and vent extender thing-a-magigs are installed. I also have the new thick carb base gasket installed. I also loctite'd the carb adapter bolts in place. All in all...

    improving braking power on dodges

The one I last saw was a 2003. I think it was around 2001-2007ish. These where the non-diesel, non-big block trucks, 2500 series only....so I think 6.0 engine trucks? The axle is basically a slightly modernized 10.5" 14-bolt GM center section. The center section looks 'finned' but still has the...

    improving braking power on dodges

Nope, not going to spend any money on the drums. At this point I would probably have to redo them anyways. I will take that money into a later disc brake 14-bolt rear axle. 70"+. I think the 94-02 axles are 71-72" wide if I remember right. My dodge D60 front is only 67.5" wide. I think a...

Self-recovery equipment for stock or close-to-stock vehicles

Jack, preferably a twin stage bottle jack that has enough stroke to start out small under the vehicle that might be sunk AND goes tall enough to get the tire off the ground. I'm not a big fan of hi-lift jacks, especially on new vehicles, since most vehicles don't have very good places to jack...

    improving braking power on dodges

It depends on what your trying to do I guess.... The 2nd gen and 3rd gen axles are a bit wide (70+"). Fine for a 2nd or 3rd gen dodge, but about 5" wider than a 1st gen dodge ( or 1st gen cummins truck or whatever ) or early GM trucks. Dodge didn't have factory rear disc brakes till 2001.5 (...

Sure, no problem. Just remember though. Most of the things I designed for this vehicle are basically one off parts that where all conceived to work together. It's easy to look at a project like this and say you can use this or that, but be aware that a LOT of thought went into this thing. I'm...

The tank basically follows the wheel tub and the floor with a slight recess on the from bottom edge to give enough room for the front mounting feet. The splash guard would just be to keep fuel from running down the front of the tank when filling from a fuel can. The seats are very close to the...

    Larry's 1978 K10

I was looking at the 2003 GM 2500 HD rear axle. 14-bolt gears with the 3rd pinion bearing, all the 14-bolt lockers options, 67" wide and foactory rear disc brakes. The only bummer is that they only come with 3.73 or 4.10 gears, for my existing dodge gear that is a bummer.....nothing a front gear...

    Larry's 1978 K10

Right, but what I was getting at is that there is an axle available that takes regular 14-bolt gears and lockers BUT has factory disc brakes with the internal hat parking brake. They are just over 67" wide too.

    Larry's 1978 K10

Yup, dodge brakes suck. I noted a cool front D60 big disc conversion in my build somewhere ( I think it used P30 rotors ) 2003(ish) GM 2500s had the last of the 14-bolt axles ( not AAM diffs ) but had factory disc brakes with the internal hat parking brake. One of these days I will redo the...

I try not to get into prices too much.....its going to be different for everyone. I have the print I sent to Boyd Welding if you would like it. They would be more than happy to quote it for you I am sure. All in all the tank is probably one of my favorite parts. It almost disappears into...

Maybe, but it would be for a Motorcraft/Autolite 2100 or 2150, not a holley 2bbl :) I ran a holley before, it went in the trashcan.

Well, onto version 2.0 of the slosh-proofer ultra 2000.... When I was making the 1st version RIGHT as I was punching the hole for the vent I had another idea. Dang it. I hate that. So, I started over on the top cover gasket. Here is the current version and how it installs. The new improved...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Very cool, you should start a thread. I agree that moving the axle forward would be a good idea, but it will start to effect the ability for the drag link to stay in the 'pocket' of the engine crossmember. 4.56 gearing with 42s should be good. Mine is ultra tall with 3.55s and 39" tires...
