If you're planning for an inverter at some point, I'll share with you what I do and don't like about the location we chose and what I'd do if starting over.
What/where is the "platinum" ?
Is there a rough time frame deadline for getting on board with this Devon order?
One hiccup I'd have is I sold my factory bumper cover figuring I'd never need it. :/
Well then, I'll never consider one of those then.
The problem I would have with the Disco Sport is that if I were going to consider that sort of shape, I'd just go directly to the Rang Rover Sport which is so much more vehicle.
So, this thread title "Discovery Sport vs. Grand Cherokee Overland...
I do not like being required to make my pit stops at a crappy gas station. I make long trips often and really prefer my stops to be nice places, at least a road side rest area with a view and also much quicker than finding a station and getting into a town sometimes taking 30 minutes or longer...
I have the basics here for easy access. Oil, air, winch control.
I have some nice air lines but because of this location I figured cheap and compact is best. This compressor feeds to but it also part of the volume of air in the tank mentioned above, from the tank there is also a line to the...
Did the 2011 Jeep have a manual hand brake in center console, manual under dash version by left knee, or electronic version? This is one reason I really do like how some vehicles are retaining that simple item, both Land Cruiser and LX570. I would guess the 4Runner also has manual pull/hand...
Nice find! I like those a lot. Funny you speak of morning sun...is that for over warming issues? Your sig says Sweden where that would not be so much of an issue most of the year, but then you have a photo from what appears to be the great Swedish sand dunes National Park ;)
About your rack...
Yeah, I have the Kaymar and the sensors have always "worked", as in 100% of the time they scream at me. I find it very annoying that kaymar drilled the holes for them but their own latches cause the sensors to alarm...
easy peasy
I don't know what fits in tray unmodified, but that's why I said it had to be changed. 1500 ish is probably true, or the 1350 like I put in the 1st location (primary position) and while bigger than stock, it fit perfectly with no mods. By the way, 1350 has better charactristics...
I'm using an Odyssey 2150 because I wanted the most run time possible. It required basic modification of battery tray/box:

It's been used a lot in 7 years for running the ARB fridge and powering 12v and dome lights inside that were rewired to it.
If these Germans are building it to safety spec too, then I'll be seriously considering their aluminum bumper:

Looks pretty slick too.
PFFT yourself if you didn't remove the exterior window edging trim and main door/body seals. What I did on the Audi was not mere mechanically aided paint buffing.
However, I also have a Java lr3 which has enough trail striping to not even bother trying to get it all out.
As part of a new...
The ARB at least follows the lines/style of the LR unlike some other versions. Plus, I like my safety features to remain intact. How does this internal replacement bumper work with our North American safety systems?
It's nice seeing yours come together!
I'm surprised you paid a shop to do detail work when it's clear you could handle it yourself. White is the easiest paint to deal with too!
I just spent ~20 hours detailing an Audi S4 wagon from every little nook and cranny inside and out: door jambs...
What you think of as the "rugged" vehicles were all true body on frame with solid axles front and rear and most of them had ball swivels up front like the Discovery 1, the same era Range Rovers, Defenders, etc. The 90's were awesome ;)
I love my LR3 and the LR4 but they are simply not as...
Yes, the lr3 is a an "integrated" body on frame. It's not a simple body on frame like the Land Cruiser with it's solid rear axle still in place. There are pros and cons.
