    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Love the Gen3. You can see my build thread here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/124241-The-Golden-Gato-A-2001-LTD-NM No lift as of yet, but that is the next project. As you can see in the picture, it is riding a bit low in the back. Surprisingly, this affected the steering and...

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

These are jut a few pictures from our recent trip. This one is at Alta Lakes in CO. This is on the side of the road someplace, making lunches and utilizing the awning. Cottonwood Canyon road on the way in to Bodie Ghost Town. And our campsite near the base of Crater Lake.

    New guy with gen3 montero

You'll like the space with that size of family. We moved on from an old TL, then an XJ, then the Gen 3 as it was the right size. Just finished a 3 week, 5000 mile road trip and my '01 performed well and the space was great. Welcome to the forum.

Gen3 suspension-levelling airbags? Anyone found em?

Any update on the bags? After a 5,143 mile trip in a heavy laden 2001, I'm looking to put in some airbags, or upgrade the suspension....airbags being the less expensive alternative.

The Golden Gato - A 2001 LTD NM

It affected drivability, steering, and handling a surprising amount.

The Golden Gato - A 2001 LTD NM

So we just got back from a 5,143 mile trip through the PNW, Canada, many NP and NMs, and about 10 States. Aside from riding low in the rear with all our gear, the Gato performed superbly. Gas mileage was between 15-20mpg depending on speed, AC use, and road conditions. Time for a lift and...

    Homemade 3rd Generation Cargo Barrier

If you are the same Corbet from over on MUD, then I take that as a great compliment. When I originally started on the project for the TLC, the Speski barriers were my inspiration. After seeing one in a UZJ100 locally, I got going on the project again. You do great work, I'm just an amateur.

Any previous Land Cruiser owners here?

With all of what I said, consider the fact that I bought my 91 for $2500 in CA, did virtually nothing to it aside from an oil and fluid change, and proceeded to take it up through Yosemite and Sequoia and back down the coast. I took it to MX a few times too. We're about to hit the road in our...

Any previous Land Cruiser owners here?

I sold the 80 because the 91 and 92 are the most anemic vehicles I can imagine. The 3FE is reliable, but not a strong motor in the least. Also, we wanted something a bit more refined as we take long road trips that aren't necessarily on dirt...mainly pavement. Creature comforts are nice. It was...

Any previous Land Cruiser owners here?

I had an 80 series...3FE powered though. Different beasts, each with strong points, and weak ones as well. As long as the TLC is not beat to snot and the price is right, you won't be displeased. Parts are definitely more plentiful and knowledge abounds on IH8MUD.

The Golden Gato - A 2001 LTD NM

You can see the result of the 3rd Gen Rear Door Fold Down Table here. Today I finished the install of the cage and cargo barrier, after having them powder coated locally. Overall, I am very happy with the project. And one with a stove on there to show that nothing really interferes with the...

3rd Gen Rear Door Fold Down Table

After seeing this type of table on many different rigs, I wanted my own version, and decided to take a crack at it on our 2001 3rd Gen LTD. After pulling the panel off the door, and seeing how everything is attached, I removed the stock net, and measured up the space. I was able to fit a 24"...

    Gen 3 plate style bumpers

I'd buy an ARB for my 2001. What kind of cost difference would there be compared to the typical suppliers?

The Golden Gato - A 2001 LTD NM

Fridge Cage I finished up the bulk of the work on the fridge cage this weekend. At one time in the past, I made my own Homemade Fridge Slide, but this time I went with an ARB slide for the Montero. I started with the empty cargo well, and made a cover from plywood. I can't recall the...

New Gen III and a Question About Tires

Good looking Montero there. Are you running spacers on those wheels at all And the random question; are you near Lake Chatuge? I was out in Hiawasee for a week visiting family last month.

New Gen III and a Question About Tires

235/85/16s on mine the day after we bought it. No issues with the transmission at all. No rubbing or fit issues either. We'll be taking our's on a multi-week trip to B.C., and back down to AZ, and I think it'll fair just fine.

The Golden Gato - A 2001 LTD NM

This was yesterday's project: Cargo Barrier And today, I started working on the fridge slide and cage, and cargo well. The well cover is just plain ol' plywood, cut to shape. For the fridge slide, I used 1/2" plywood as a base, and anchored it in with two of the LATCH bolts, one rear...
