The frame is green ( mostly ) and the front axle is back under it..... I also got some something shinny in the mail today..... This is my new fuel tank that I designed and had manufactured by Boyd Welding. What a GREAT business to work with! The tank follows the shape of the rear wheel...

What would be your ultimate adventure in an old flat fender jeep? I'm getting totally excited about getting my recently rebuilt version on some remote dusty track somewhere..... My most crazy idea is to drive my 70 year old ( yet lightly modified :sombrero: ) Willys MB from the Mexico border...

Coming soon! The axles are going back in this weekend hopefully ( I am waiting for the new rear axle side gears ). I will also be working on getting the transmission and transfer case sealed up and fully bolted to the engine so I can set those back in really soon. Then before I stick the tub...

The frame is done for now! I still need to add a few things like shock mounts, but I will just do that during the final assembly. I got two cans of primer on the bottom. Tomorrow I will flip it over and lay on some more primer, I should probably get up early in the morning and do that so it can...

I'm still chugging away on the frame final welding..... Here is how I made them.....kinda fun..... I was able to fish some welding wire through the frame after I drilled a few holes..... I made a bolt on a wire. Weld to the head, pull the ground, hit the trigger to get yourself some...

It already rolled out of the garage..... Then right back in and I tore it down into little pieces again.....

Its something like that for sure...... I think the bigger changes that you can see take less time.....at least to get mocked up. The small stuff, like finish welding the frame takes a fairly long time, and it basically looks the same as the mock up! I can only imagine how much time it would...

And another evening of fun filled frame fabrication...... I am going to need one more evening I think to finish up the frame before spraying some primer and paint on it. Its right side up again, but I still need to finish the tow hook mounts, then seal the front frame section, and then weld on...

Well, all ready to weld, ran two beads and then no more welding wire....crap...... So then I decided to pull the carrier out of the rear axle and swap the side gears. Out was pretty easy, but the side gears that i have are not the same thing. I think they where from a 2 side gear track-lock...

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG......must keep motivation flowing....... More frame welding tonight. I might be able to wrap the frame welding up tomorrow. I need to bend a piece of material in the press brake at work for the pintle hitch mount tomorrow anyways. So much to do....so little...

Back apart it goes....... So far the parts coming in are going together like they are suppose to.... I spent a few hours today welding up the frame, still a few hours to go at least.....

I tried to clean up the pic for scale a bit....my photo-**** is weak.

Mock-up is done and I started moving things around in the shop for tear down....so the jeep went OUTSIDE for the first time in MONTHS! I started getting goodies in the mail..... And one last bad picture for scale. I'm 5'10" and the jeep is still MUCH shorter than me. It dropped maybe...

horse hair, now that's thinking...... Currently with only 5-weeks left, detail stuff like this is going to have to take a back seat. I am going to try get all the 'big' stuff done so I can at least have it mobile again......go, stop, and steer under its own power. I can fill in the little stuff...

I'm not too worried about it being sealed perfectly....It has a few hundred extra 'lighting' holes as is..... Something like that might work. I wonder how it would be effected with the lever rocking side to side? Currently I am thinking a piece of leather with punched holes for the lever...

I think the levers move to far at the level where the boot would need to sit.....somthing like 3"+ at the base of the boot and 6+ " at the lever knob. I would have to add a lot to the tunnel to get the flange to fit..... Still thinking.....
