    4m50 turbo upgrade

My truck is long since past its warranty days. It is an 07 with over 200,000 miles on it. The stand alone ECM linked above would replace the Fuso ECM completely, which would allow custom tuning if Steinbauer did not offer that. Not sure where a 6BT swap came in, but it has been done. It just...

    4m50 turbo upgrade

If you REALLY want to keep the 4M50 and tune it, this is the only solution that I know of. Get out your credit card: http://www.destroked.com/zeus.php setup for "popular" engines, but can be used to control any common rail/electronic diesel engine.

Some specs and details here: http://www.actionvehicleeng.com/2014/11/ronnie-renners-ambulance/ and a video, for those with ADD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSXMWZB3-UA&hd=1

    4m50 turbo upgrade

I presume this is due to the VGT. These motors are quite robust and could be powerhouses if there were a supporting aftermarket for the foundational components such as turbos, injectors/pump and electronic tuning. With these components and proper tuning, 300 -350 HP and 600 - 650 TQ should be...

    4m50 turbo upgrade

There is something in that site which automatically redirects the yanks, to the US site. I even typed ".cc/au/products/" manually into the text bar and it auto corrects right back to US. Australian proxy is the only thing I can think of and it might need to be one that is not transparent, as...

    4m50 turbo upgrade

1994-98 MANUAL 175-215 HX35W 12cm² 1994-98 AUTO 160-180 HX35W 12cm² ----------------------- I would be concerned about it being a bit laggy on a 4M50, especially without being to turn the pump up or increase RPM. I will be interested to see what you come up with

    4m50 turbo upgrade

HX35 and presumably HY35 are very old technology turbos. I know the HX35 came on early Dodge Cummins trucks and you can likely find one cheap, as the Dodge guys want to upgrade to newer tech or twins. Holset makes a great turbo, but there are better and more efficient turbos in that size for...

    06 fuso fe over heating

Drilled a hole in the hub and through bolted it for now and will stay that way until I get a few miles on it and makes sure everything else is resolved. A local dealer has one in stock for $320 shipped, but I think I can do better. It will get replaced here in the next few weeks.

    06 fuso fe over heating

My fan was turning (visually) but when i put my hand on it, i could easily stop it. Im not advocating shoving your hand in a moving radiator but mine stopped very easily and stayed stopped.

    06 fuso fe over heating

Sorry for the delay in posting the diagnosis, but things have been a bit mad the last few days. Apparently both the fan clutch and the EGR cooler were bad. The former could be stopped with two fingers with the engine hot and running, while the latter was full of coolant. Both have been remedied...

    06 fuso fe over heating

I have no answers to your questions, sire. I did turn my fan last week when the truck was off and not overheating and it was "relatively" easy to turn. I should be able to check it this week and will be with the truck for a few days if I need to look for sensors or wires, take pics, etc

Which model/motor do you recommend for an E350 build?

Common Rail 5.9 swap with a ZF-6 and Atlas/HERO. If you are going to build a bad *** van, you might as well go all the way. Second choice would be LLY, ZF-6 and Atlas/HERO. Chevy motors have been going into Fords for years, why should this be any different? :D

    06 fuso fe over heating

On my truck, the fan comes on almost immediately and runs the whole time the truck is running. A mate of mine said I should try to stop it or slow it down somehow and see if the fluid coupling is really engaging how it is supposed to. Maybe its not turning fast enough, but I am not willing to do...

    E350 Gray Vhale Build Thread

With regard to air pressure for on and off road travel, you have a few choices: The proper method is to corner weight the van fully loaded with gear and people, just as you would have it when you are off road on a trip. Then get a "Load & Inflation Table" for your specific make and model of...

    Mission Dawn Patrol

Very cool foundation, love the bedliner inside and out. It appears to be towards the end of your trip and its certainly your choice to make, but I would seriously consider avoiding the east "coast" in the south. The beaches are not pretty like they are in Florida and in the islands, I-95 is an...

2003 Dodge Ram Van 3500 Build - Part Time Traveler

Be very careful when choosing spray adhesives. It is very important to get the correct product for your application. Stores like Home Depot may carry a general purpose Super 77 or Super 90, but that doesnt mean its the right application for the job. Conversely, just because the Locktite...

6" lift with 37's looks good. Anymore pics of it? Have you guys ever done a custom link suspension in place of the leaves? Seems like with the custom dampers and your air bag options, there would be no need for leaf springs. I know the newer Superduy trucks are coils and radius arms, but I dont...

    Camper Interior 87 Toyota van

I do drive with the windows closed, but no "phobia" about dirt or bugs here. I prefer not to have dirt in my sheets or to be bitten by mosquitos all night and if your doors have been open all day long, both of those are quite likely. Maybe install a fine mesh screen over the doors and windows...
