You have to deal with steering items, axle geometry changes, ride quality and handling changes...all sorts or poo. An OME lift is much more straightforward and the end result will be more in-line with what you have described.

Well, after MoGas and I lifted his red 62, it was a damn nice ride with the OME. For reliability and servicability, I'd stay with the stock suspension configuration. That way, if you ever have to replace an entire housing or something of that nature, you won't need to muck around with welding...

I have the TW 235/85/16 MTs on my 80 series and have been very happy with them. I've had them to a jaguar preserve in northen mx, along the coast in Baja down to Gonzaga, in 5' deep snow in Flagstaff last winter, and thousands of miles worth of blacktop....all this year. I'd recommend them...
