    Fuel Can Storage Question

Well, good advice or not, but I just returned from a trip to Mexico with 2 surplus NATO cans in my LC. No fume, no weird expansions from altitude or heat. Went from snowing in Flagstaff at 7000' to 75* weather in MX, through PHX and Tucson.

Overland Society volunteer weekend work trip report - Oct 27-Nov 1, 2009

Aside from the great people, and good work that Carlos is doing, this is the other "item" that I have taken away from this trip: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4768306570389517340#docid=-3953230047921452565

235/85/15 tire options- Is this a bad idea?

I've ran 235/85/16 BFG ATs on my WJ, on stock 16x6.5 wheels, and loved them. On a trip to snow country last year(when I was still in CA), my WJ only had 2WD due to a front driveshaft failure. With snow chains, these tires were able to cut through 3' of snow, and get me into where I needed. I am...

    Re-tread tires

Well, after an 800 mile road trip from Flagstaff to Imuris, SON, MX, I am pleased with the tires. The road noise is no worse than any other MT out there, and I experienced no odd vibrations on the highway, and they performed as expected on the backrods of the Rancho we were working at. They've...

Overland Society volunteer weekend work trip report - Oct 27-Nov 1, 2009

This was such a great trip! The hospitality of Carlos, and helping to further his dream was simply amazing. El Rancho Aribabi was a part of the world, and an ecosystem, that I had never seen before, and it was fun to be building the future there. I learned a lot about the challenges he faces by...

WTB: MT45 Transit Slide Lock or Engel Slide

If no one does have one locally, may I suggest Ho and company at Expedition Exchange in Torrance, CA? Good people to deal with, just make sure you know what you want when you go to their shop, otherwise you end up walking out with way more stuff than you need.

    The Great White Buffalo

That is exactly what it is. Dave is awesome though and had me a new part by today. I think the PO put the wrong size nut(13mm OD instead of the 12mm like everything else) and when we torqued it properly, the thing stipped out.

Why would Abby be tied up to your awning pole? I don't think the wife would approve.

Well, after doing a torque check after a week or so of driving, I ended up with this: The new stud will be in on friday. I also discovered the source of my coolant ooze...hairline cracks in the radiator.

One hundred 2005-2006 Land Cruiser 4.5 Brutus diesel pick-ups?

From the response I got, these are the UZJ105s...not 70 series vehicles.
