Nicely written. I feel kinda sad because my own Toyota story would be something along the lines of... I got my driver's license in 1987. I bought this FJ Cruiser in late 2010 and I still have it. :sombrero:
I liked your story much better. :coffeedrink: Keep 'em coming!
Matt got a new Toy...

Needs some TLC... Maybe not the TLC some of you are thinking of, though if he had that kind of budget I'm sure he wouldn't complain.
And yeah, it's not an 80-Series like I titled the thread, but hey you get what you pay for when someone else posts your...
Updated Instant Tent rainfly coming to U.S. market?..
As posted over on the FJ Forum...
Based on this I was able to find the page on the Coleman Australia parts website for their 4/6/8-Person 'Instant Up' tents. Hopefully we Yanks might be seeing something similar to these before long.
And...
Um, you could call Ben at Outback Proven (since that's their truck that he drove to the Vermont Overland Rally) and ask how it's working out for them or if they just mounted it for display purposes.

Just sayin'.
I guess the frame architecture of the full-size Titan Pickup and Titan Armada SUV might share something with the overseas Patrol, but I was always under the impression they are standalone creations for the North American market because of their more American body/cabin dimensions. I really don't...
Dream on. I will gladly dream with you, but it ain't gonna happen at all, let alone with the 70-Series. We're set to have the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Tacoma, and Tundra (along with the Lexus GX460 & LX570) as our choices of body-on-frame Toyota 4x4s for the foreseeable future in the U.S. market...
I'll admit, I could picture you rocking the ARB Tacoma, maybe with the fridge inside the cab... :ylsmoke: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/104938-ARB-2012-Toyota-Tacoma-Expo-Build
Yeah, I think it was a done deal when Toyota posted that fleet listing that had every current model with post-MY2014 entries except for the FJC.
It's too bad that they didn't return to Voodoo Blue for this one, which would have been a proper way for this model go out in our market... Unless it...
I was tempted to grab a couple of these last year, but the 30"L killed it for me to be able to fit one in the back of my FJC with the back seat up - http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/90543-Storage-for-Hitch-Carrier?p=1242008#post1242008
The plastic seems like it might be more prone...
mab.switawi's LX450 yesterday. Wish I'd something other than my phone for pics.
It was absolutely gorgeous outside with temps in the low 60s and we drove around with the windows down all day.
Sinc all I did was ride around in Matt's LX yesterday...
Got his Alu-Box for odd & ends and recovery gear. He ordered a couple new Sceptre MFCs (at a price I won't condone, lol) to carry fuel.
:safari-rig:
Talked him into a little side trip after we went to look at an FJ40. Not a great quality...
I like that! Most of the time I'm a ball cap person, but out on the range or at the beach that would be perfect.
I had a 'boonie' hat for years that I got in Puerto Rico. The brim that was easily double the width of that Sun-Tac. Unfortunately I'm not sure where it got off to.
The only other hat...
Thanks for the heads-up, Corey! I haven't been hanging on the Blue Room regularly for a while now. I have the rear side rack, but have managed to hold off buying the door rack... until now.
Just watched the install video. An existing, simple idea gets revisited with solid construction principles...
