bolts with a tab on it that stops the wheel from turning to far. look for them on the swivel ball housing download a series 3 repair manual it has great diagrams and reasonably detailed instructions

I have an overdrive in mine, I use as if it was a 5th gear. but i use it when the main gearbox is in 3rd or 4th. It drops the revs by about 28% its a fairey overdrive it has its own oil resoivoir look for the brass drain plugs. it fits on the rear of the PTO
