I did see some bad reviews on the climate Right units but it looked like they were all on a discontinued model.
I found an old 5k btu window unit out in the shop. Maybe I'll see how hard it would be to recreate what Climate Right is doing with it.
I have the Aluminess boxes on the back on both sides. It should fit in there and take it out to use it. Then, I can also use it for other things like our enclosed trailer. What I like is only having to drill a couple holes in the van. I know I could buy a window
A/c for a couple hundred bucks...
Found this lil guy. Wondering what you guys think and if 5000 BTU would be enough to cool the van in 100+ temps?

Startin to think about interior comfort as the summer approaches. Looking for options for cooling the van down in the heat when parked. I have a roof rack so installing a roof air unit would not be my best option.
Any thoughts?
I ordered this part from MG and the install took about 2 hours. Not hard at all.
Works perfect and very happy now.
Thanks MG :)
Now for the front LED grill ;)
Our van came without a spare underneath. There appears to be a box relocated into that area. (not sure what it is). I can still load a spare under there but it will rest against the box and 2 tabs and hang a bit lower than stock.
Not sure if it's a good idea to put a spare under the vehicle...
Thanks for this idea :)
Gonna test this set-up out. We can put them side by side for a Queen size and fold out of the way when driving :)
We'll probably refine this a bit as we go along.
Got our hinge from MG Friday.
Happily opening our slider all the way Sat. afternoon after a couple hours install.
This works perfect !!!!!
Thanks MG :)
Our van has a second battery installed on the passenger side frame under the van.
Anyone know how this set up works? Is it just always in parallel with the one in the engine compartment or is it separated somehow?
Was thinking of using it for house loads possibly so I don't inadvertently kill...
So, we're about done with the outside of the van. Time to start thinking about the inside.
What's the best insulation set-up for sound, heat and cold. We have a blank slate now with nothing but the factory headliner and carpet.
Thanks in advance. :)
