Put in all new breather lines for the axles, transfer case and distributor. All routed up to roof height. High and dry now. Forward lines into the snorkel and the rear into the corner pillar.
Hmmm better avoid Sylvania. OK, just being sarcastic now. Every company has parts fail, break and wear out. On the plus side of Rusty's, I've had one of their steering systems for many years. It's worked flawlessly in some extreme conditions across the country I have no intentions of replacing...
There is a lady in Utah living full time in her Prius, a young lady here in the east attending college full time who lives in her Jetta. So by comparison some of our rigs are over sized and luxurious. It's a matter of what really matters! I spent years eliminating debt and material possessions...
I'm sure Pat will chime in on this thread at some point, but until then this might be of interest to those who have a similar mind set.

Nice design and low profile. Keeping it manageable by one person is key for me as well. I opted to simply use 4 sets of 58" Yakima cross bars on their gutter mount Q Towers purchased used on Craigslist from 2 sources and under $200 total. Use of the factory rails was out of the questions as they...
In my youth (early 70's) I lived for months in the foothills and mountains outside of Tucson AZ with next to nothing. One of the best times of my life. Now that I'm retired thoughts of a simple life have returned. I'm currently re purposing my 1999 XJ as a trailer to be towed by my 1997 XJ. A...
Saw your photos. I think a torch is going to be required to pull it out, then some reinforcing metal to strengthen it again. I'd strip the front all the way down first. But that's just my red neck side thinking about how to.
Saturday, removed the blown rear C 8.25 from my 97 and installed the C 8.25 from my 99. Sunday, Removed the LP D 30 from my 97 and installed the HP D 30 from my 99. Now Red, my 97 is back on the road as my daily driver after being down for a week. I think I might take tomorrow off!
I miss my Jeeps, even though they are all here and parked. We managed to bust every one of them the last couple weeks. Hoping to have two of them back on the road by the end of the weekend. I'm just an XJ with a stick addict and the SO loves her TJ with a stick. Getting to where we need to go...
I love my jeeps with solid front axles, but it's my personal preference what I drive. I'm not here for Jeeps. I'm here for the rest of the info and friends on this site. Some rigs and concepts I like and some I don't like. But this isn't a forum to flame each other, that's why it's so nice. Let...
