04 Montero relocate factory dvd player

I want to install a double din unit with android auto etc...


I want to keep the factory dvd player as my kids love it and it works great.

But I know I need that spot for the ac controls.

Has anyone done this before or something to fix this issue.


Maybe hook up some audio/video cables to the new headunit to the factory audio/video cables?

I had the same issue. I ended up not doing it. I think the best/only solution is to buy a double din unit with built in DVD player and remove the factory one.
