Back from two weeks in the central Rockies, with several days spent exploring passes around the Breckenridge, Fairplay/Alma and Leadville areas; I'll post a thread in "Completed Adventures" once I've gone through and processed the more than 1,500 photos I took (of which only a handful will be more than snapshot quality, of course).
As I was sorting through the lot last night I came across these and figured I'd see how PS CS3 Auto Merge does with stitching UWA shots for panos. I knew when shooting this that I was taking a risk, since wide angle -- let alone ultra-wide angle -- general don't work well for panos since they're hard to stitch. Have to say, though, that CS3 did an awesome job.
This is 6 horizontal (landscape) shots at 12mm converted from RAW in ACR, stitched using Auto Merge in PS CS3 then post processed from there as a single image. At 300DPI this is something like 36" wide.
Shot from the east side of Mosquito Pass, near the summit (approx 12,800-feet in altitude here; 13,185 at the top). Amazing views and scenery, with the West side (Leadville side) being even more spectacular; will post shots from there in the 'completed adventures' thread.

Mosquito Pass is in the Mosquito Range (central Rockies) which is made up of 8 peaks, 4 are 14ers and the other 4 damn near 14ers: click

The trail on the left is the one I'm on (Mosquito Pass Rd); the South London Mine (click for google map sat image) is out in the distance, just left of center down in that basin. North London Mine -- a cool POI along the trail, and which I have a bunch of photos of -- is at the base of the trail I'm on below/well behind me.
