1983 FJ45 Troop Carrier Buildup

:victory:

You're gonna need more kids to fill that thing, but the 2200 will fit just fine.

BARELY! But it does, gotta back it in ya know with that funky steering wheel side so I can open the door to get out.

First step, rear seating in triplicate....suggestions? :)

Scott,

Congrats on the troopy. It's another great rig of Andy's that has some of my blood and sweat in it. I really look forward to seeing how you adapt it into a Family Baja Truckster.

I have to say, it's always kinda sad to pass on a Cruiser, but I'm stoked that it's gone to Scott and his family...geez' you guys should have seen his kiddos! Soooo excited about the new Cruiser; climbing all over it like a beige jungle gym!

....and I have to say, the road trip from Phoenix to Globe for my trial today was...pimpin'! My only problem is that I don't realize I can do more than 65mph...and darn near get run over in Phoenix traffic!

Congrats Scott! I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Raid a school bus grave yard?

Congrats Scott. The best "full size" choice you could have made! Are you keeping the 80?

And congrats Andrew - so...what's next?:lurk:

Yes I'll keep the 80 though I may try it auction it at the Barrett Jackson next year, anything minus family I have is for sale :)

My 80 is too rare (neat world-market stuff) and the only vehicle I practically bought new (what a depreciation!), failing a job loss I'll likely wait until it is totaled by one of my boys a decade or so from now.

Hltoppr has done a pretty good buildup, there's really not much needing to be built. I do need to do seating for the fam (as the reason I sold my 3FJ40). Wife won't let me cart the kiddos around in the commuter beater anymore and I commute either to the library on bike, to my "office" across the hall, or on taxi/United Airlines so have little requirement of my beater any longer.

Do I put the 2200 up there? Would the 80 get jealous?

The 80 will probably go under a de-build/re-stock as tires'll go back to street, permanent camp stuff is de-latched, ham radio out &c &c.

Oh and wouldn't you know insurance is more expensive, apparently there's a greater chance I'll smash into someone in the FJ45 than in my other vehicles. Hmmm, sounds about right...
