1983 FJ60 Land Cruiser rebuild and upgrade

Getting brakes pipes, Air Lockers hooked up, fuel lines finalized.... Using Nickel Copper for brake lines. Probably hard to see but the lines mounted to the frame have a 1/2" stand-off to allow for later mounting of the rock sliders.

Well I have run into an interesting problem. We tried to fit up the High Speed/Low Speed Transfercase shift assembly and found that the mounting buss on the trans is about 1" longer on the new H55f trans so the linkage assembly and the lever don't line up with the transfer case piston nor the shifter with the hole in the floor. I can't find anyone else that has had this issue so not sure yet how to best address this. If anyone has heard of this and knows a fix please let me know. Thanks.

Well I may have found the solution. I spoke with Justin at Redline Land Cruisers in Colorado who said the solution is a new cast linkage that is made by Specter Off Road, part number 074-11E-A, which I have ordered. (not cheap). We'll see if this fixes the problem.

Getting a lot of little details tied up. 3D-printed air intake mounted, ECU mounted, Air compressor mounted, heater hosing mostly in, battery holders and one battery in....

Getting the exhaust worked out. Had a problem with the cross over. The cross over is too low so will try to modify the trans shaft cover and use the extra space there for the cross over.

Got the cover plate reworked and the exhaust rerouted with better clearance. Still a little nervous about clearance to front drive shaft on bumps but should clear.

Got the condenser cleaned up and mounted. Also exterior lighting controls. Ran motor and all is good. Ready for final paint.

It is stock but it may have originally been on the inside of radiator, I can't remember and don't have photo but now with electric fan and cowl only place to locate it is on the front.

Finally doing final paint work. The end is getting near.

The orange monster is progressing. Putting all back together. Bought new headliner, new upholstery, taillights, emblems...coming along. getting anxious.

Painted the rain gutter black instead of replacing the beat up chrome. Also added roof sound deadening. Moving slow due to coronavirus delays.
