1990 GMC suburban "The YETI"

I am doing something today that I hate to do...... im taking it to a shop to get some work done. we have been in the teens during the days and single digits at night for the last week plus and still have about 8 inches of snow and suppose to get 4 more days of snow this week. so without a shop to work in, I am gonna pay to have the wheel bearings replaced in the front.

well good news, bad news, good news

bearings were fine, I have a small amount of play in one of my lower ball joints, but it is still within spec to be safe to drive. I will change the ball joints once the weather warms up before our trip in May.

Yeti to the rescue!!!!

roads were fine when I came to work, shortly after that it turned to freezing rain (and 3 hours later is still freezing rain). a couple of my employees got stuck in town and couldn't make it. so I jumped in the Yeti and headed in, no problem for it. picked them all up and made it back to work safe and sound.

just dropped it off down at the shop to get the ball joints replaced, wheel bearings packed, and front end alignment.

long story short I ended up stealing the battery from the suburban for my 1972 K5 the other day to replace the piece of junk Optima, so I upgraded the battery in the suburban to a centennial group 31 battery

you know these things ride so much better when you take the new shocks out of the rear that have been riding around in there for 3 months and actually install them.
