I know who made it but I wasn't sure if he had it on here or not. I'm glad he did, because he only has info about the motor swap on his website.

4rescue, you may even be able to get a second top and use that to build the camper and that way you could put it back to stock when you didn't need the camper. I see the tops for 1st gens on craigslist all the time for not much money.

NorCal Born, my brain's spinning, I need to come up with some questions.

This is a great idea!

This way you won't mess up your stock 4Runner. Buy the el cheapo 4Runner used topper.......stick it on your garage floor to work on. Have somebody that knows what they are doing help you cut the top and fab up a Flip Top like shown on the Red truck just above. That would be awesome!

Would it possible to ditch the tailgate and install a floor to ceiling rear door? Maybe even a flip down step to the outside somehow! .....ooooo with fancy night time saftey step lighting! ....don't get me started....or I'll be up all night! Wait.....what about a pull out, outside BBQ/Stove/sink combo!!~!.....oh no! No sleep! I knew it.

You can still use your 4Runner while you are working on your fun project.

That is SO COOL... great find mate.

Dave

Lance (goodtimes at ultimateyota) found it and brought it up in a thread and I instantly thought of this thread.

Not many vehicles have the ability to have this done while you still use your rig, since you could use a different top. Also, you could have the windows on the shell fiberglassed in for more storage options on the actual shell.

Yeah, I've been looking around, and I've found another top, so now I just have decide if i want to pull the trigger and try this.

I had the same idea to fill the rear windows like I saw someone do in a thread in the Rover section. I can't really see out of theose windows anyway...

Cheers :26_7_2:
