This is my 88 4runner, just asking for any suggestions on fixing the sag in the back and putting a 3-4'' lift on it, right now it is sitting on 33's and i want to do it the right way without any shortcuts or quick fixes, so anything would help.

Clean rig man. I assume you have a small lift with the 33"s now? Sag has been a problem with these runners for ever. I fixed mine with add a leafs. not exactly the right way but i sure do like the ride it has given me. most would probably say 3 in front suspension and 4 in OME leafs in the rear or chevy 63's. really it comes down to your own judgment and total expectation of the rig when your done. I personally may go to 33's in hopes of evening out my expectations for the future which is a capable off road extended stay rig.

Welcome to ExPo!

I ordered from this Canadian Company for my rear lift leafs. I got the almost 3" lift leafs in the style pictured below, call them to get the details. They can also custom build anything you want. And I feel the value is very good. Then I ordered Sway~A~Way Torsion bars for the front.

Do a search on their site, and give them a call.

By the way ExPo Mods....I can't view the ochrana Pic while using Firefox. Strange.

I've never heard of such a thing.

How much are those coils?

Why leave the saggy springs on in the first place if they are no good?

Why not do it proper with replacement Leafs?

I don't get it.

It's no different than an Add-A-Leaf, but with relatively inexpensive coils instead

I have the Nepo lift using factory TJ springs on mine and that was after restacking the pack with an extra leaf tryignto get it up off the bump stops. The coil Springs were free when a buddy put a lift on his Rubi. So the upgrade was free. Rides like a caddie. :ylsmoke:

I do have a little bit of concern about axle wrap but axle wrap issues in leaf spring toys is common without the lift. I plan to make something like this.

I know this is an old thread... And I'm a noob to this site.
However, I'm not a noob to my 87 Runner than I'm in the process of building into overland travel (funding permitted:sombrero: )
I was looking at this rack, and I'm super interested in it, anybody have any specs, links to the build, know the owner?
PM with an details.
Thanks

-Jaren

I like the rack because I can still have the roof off but still have a useable rack!

I've tried contacting the owner- to no avail.

The rack would be pretty easy to build, just make sure you have a plate of some kind in the inside to keep it from damaging the body. I am still working out a design myself.

heres my '87 Toy on a trip to Saline Valley a couple years ago, stock at the time except for a detroit in the rear and a marlin 4.7 geared transfercase, bumpers.
It is now under the knife.
Clampet style :)

Thats a lot of stuff on that yota lol. I had thought of a receiver mount like that but for many places I go it would kill my angles.

I am thinking of a setup that I can attach to my sliders and rear bumper but I want the rack removable as i have secondary idea for keeping the load lower when i know i am going to be in a more crawler type environment and have the top off in summer.

I drag it across alot of stuff and it just keeps taking it!!! Its just one of those cheap receiver baskets. sometimes it does have to come off to make it over some stuff- but this is not my rockcrawler YET. I have an '85 extracab that will run Rubi./hammer trails- parts are moving over to the runner now(as well as some new stuff).

Mandatory overloading for long trips with a wife and 5year old :Wow1:
