I think Idaho and i are on the same page here. just bolting 2 3x3 plates together and using friction to sustain weight for periods of time is asking for trouble. Welding a plate say 8 or bigger to the inside would work but then you will burn the paint on the body exterior. about the only way I can thing of to properly execute this design is with a reverse bracket mounting to frame or something very solid on the interior. Think of a tie downs that you bolt to the out side of your truck bed. I have popped more than one set off with a truckers hitch and my body weight. I sure as heck do not want that to happen to the runner.

I hooked up with Dieselcruiserhead for part of his Carbon Neutral Expedition and showed him a few AZ sites. That was up near the Marble Canyon portion of the Grand Canyon on the Navajo Rez.

whats up with the rear tire location. did you do this on purpose? If so what was the purpose? might just be the image but it looks like it would rub on your rear bumper when flexed. does it help or change the feel at all?

On the Rim. Less than one hour before the first pic. Yes there must be some elevation changes on the Rim. I keep an altimeter in my truck. This helps when in the high country while listening to the weather reports.
