I bought this 100 series Landcruiser with the intention of building an RTW expedition rig. It has come a long way over the past 3 years of my ownership and ~10k miles of driving. I focussed on the build in 3 main areas to make this a vehicle capable of traveling RTW.
  • Ensuring that the frame and body are in great shape
  • Ensuring that the mechanical condition is excellent
  • Adding necessary accessories / farkles
I am now looking to start over with a potentially bigger platform and hence this is up for sale. The vehicle is located in Herndon, VA. I live within 10 minutes of Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) and am happy to pickup anyone that wants to fly in and buy. There are more pictures in the link below. If you want me to grab more pics of anything, please let me know.
  • 2001 LX470, Blue Vapor Metallic over Gray
  • Current miles: ~205xxx, Will increase as this is my daily driver
  • Interior Gray Leather in 8/10 condition, Driver seat bottom needs to be fixed
  • 3rd row seats included
  • Currently has home made storage drawers installed in place of 3rd row seating
  • Lexus website has service records until 2015
  • Cash Price: $12,000
Over 20K spent in the past 3 years for preemptive maintenance and accessories to make this an expedition rig. Here are some of the highlights of work done.
  • 18" Tundra wheels with Falken Wildpeak AT3 installed with ~7000 miles on them
  • 18" Tundra Spare Wheel (Steel) with matching size tire. New Tire.
  • WeatherTech Floor Mats front to rear
  • Heater T's, Hoses fore & aft of radiator, Timing belt, Water Pump, Air filters, Spark Plugs etc. replaced at 197K
  • Doug Thorley Headers replaced at 197K
  • IronMan Stage 2 Foam Cell Pro 2" Suspension Kit with AHC disabled
  • IronMan front differential drop to compensate for 2” rise
  • Scangauge installed in overhead console
  • Lutz Speedo Fix to account for taller wheels
  • Undercarriage cleanup and professional Rust proof coating
  • OEM Remanufactured alternator installed
  • New battery installed recently
  • Replaced muffler with a stock unit from a 2006 LX470
  • All 4 rotors and brakes replaced recently, brake system flushed & refilled recently
Additional parts & Accessories available for sale separately. Some of these are currently installed on the LX. Once the weather is better here, I plan to put the vehicle back to as close as stock (with the exception of the suspension) as possible . I am happy to talk a package deal to someone that is interested in all of it.
  • LCAs, UCAs, CV Axles, boots, and a plethora of bushings
  • Yakima Roadshower 10Gal
  • Ironman Awning
  • Rhino Rack platform for the roof
  • ARB Intensity 9” driving lights on front bumper
  • MetalTech OPOR Sliders, OEM steps
  • IronMan front bumper

I love the 100 series Landcruiser!

If you are looking for another truck, you may want to check out a for sale post. A person has a 2010 Toyota Tacoma with a TRD supercharger, look like a lot of quality upgrades (he calls the “enhancements” ha, ha), low miles, looks like it is in great condition. He lives in Virginia, Northern Virginia, if that is near you?

Best of luck.

Thanks for the pointers. I’ll check it out. That is my area
