As some have heard. I went to taco rock therapy this last week. The three of us head off to moab Utah but we took two days to get there so we could camp along the way.

Some more photos. I really need to do something about the rear leaf. I'm heavier on the driver side even with all the water and fuel out. Not sure if a custom pack can be built for more weight on one side and how this will affect ride quality.

I might have to find some junk yard springs and add to my current back and see what I get. If that works out I can skip having a set made. Still need to do the SFK 1st. Hopefully they are released soon.

Looks like if I had the factory bumps that it would have restricted how much up travel I truly have. As you can see I can almost touch the u bolts to frame before shock bottomed out.

Find a spring rate calculator and run some numbers before installing more leafs. I should have done that before inadvertently adding hundreds of pounds of spring rate over what I had, I hate doing things twice. If anything I'd maybe run a short block on one side to level it out with the other.

Lots of people who don't need the tire clearance will trim the rear bump stop strike plate to accommodate for more up travel and yet still retain a stock or similar length bumpstop. I was reading a good discussion about it over on TundraSolutions.

Running without bumpstops and new shocks is kind of scary! I would have been paranoid that I would blow the shocks out.

Looks like Moab was a blast!

So with a calculator I can figure out how much spring rate I need to add?

Are you still running 32" tires? Ever have any clearance issues or wish for larger?

Yup still running 32s. Haven't ran into any real clearance issue. The tundra was built for distance out of state travel and spend lots of miles on the road. Smaller lighter tires will be easier on the drivetrain and mpg. Also being a state or two away from home. I don't wanna push my truck to hard and risk the truck or the trip. I have done and follow many people at moab with 33 or larger and lockers without any issues. Under armor and bumpers helps any lack of clearance

This one is good. As accurate as your measurements are.

Thank you. Gonna see if I can come up with anything. Still don't know much about building spring packs.

Yeah I'll probably trim the bump so it stocks the shock from bottoming out. I'm pretty sure i bottomed out the fox a few times but they are beef and I'm sure they can handle the abuse. The rear shocks wasn't to expensive if I did trash one. Was around $130 shipped irrc.

Moab was a blast. #MoabOrBust

Jose definitely went everywhere... but he did scare me a little bit on the Tip Over Challenge being open/open, haha!

With that calculator you can figure out what you had stock, what you have now, then what you'd like to add. Shorter leafs= higher spring rate, longer leafs= lower spring rate. If you can get another leaf between the two OEM leafs you will get the least amount of added spring rate with a slight increase in ride height. This will also get you the smoothest ride.

Alcan springs can build you a custom pack with spring rates left and right depending on load

Hells Revenge, nice! Either of you try Hells Gate? I did it in the LX and managed to not lift a tire... I think the Tundy with the longer wheel base would make quick work of it.

Nope, but after a few more hours on the slickrock I was feeling very confident in my truck and wished I did it. Next time for sure. I posted a photo of a DCSB TRD Pro Tundra that walked up it. Long wheel base for the win on Hell's Gate.

Yeah I didn't do it. Hells gates does favor the longer wheel base. I would feel better if I had a rear locker lol
