Went to finally have my rig aligned after all the suspension work etc.. And guess what...it was in perfect spec! Lol I do not know how that happened unless the mechanic who swapped out the 2011 springs and changed my cv's snuck an alignment in there.

With the 2011 springs in the front I could let go of the wheel and almost make a 45° turn.

After I had the new 2010 fd1 springs swapped in, and cv's changed it trekked pretty straight.

Is it possible lowering the front end could've brought it into spec?

I Parked by a 1st gen this evening and it is the first time I've seen the height difference between the same gen.

Update time! I installed my tow hooks today. It was pretty time consuming but not hard at all. The worst was cutting the holes in the fascia, mainly because you get one shot to get it right lol. I also made a firm decision to not add the mesh grill. The reason is, I've had the mesh in my shed for about 2 months and when I got it out it had already started to rust, so instead I just painted my condenser with some high temp paint "very lightly" and left the factory grill on.

Just in case anyone wants the measurements for the tow hook holes

I just stumbled across this thread. Very cool.

I bought my daughter a Patriot when she moved to Anchorage right out of college. She loved that thing and she had some confidence in winters with it. When her contract expired she moved back to the lower 48. Cheaper to sell than ship. We opted for a VW convertible this go around. Then, she moved to Portland. The VW has been nothing but headaches. #LemonLaw. So what to do? Like I say she loved her Patriot. Just got the 75th edition this weekend, lots of bells, whistles, even a sun roof and great utility. After reading this thread it is a good thing she is in Portland and I am in Arizona. :D

Again, very cool.

Enjoy the adventures.

There was some talk on the patriot forum of the tow hook holes being stamped on the backside of the fascia...this is not so. I wish there had been, it would've made things a lot easier. However, someone was nice enough to take take measurements of the holes.

Thanks Jeffrey!

I've had a couple lemons in my day, they are most certainly headache after headache. Then you try to fix it enough so someone will buy it, or so a dealer doesn't laugh at you when you try and trade it in.

The patriots are nice little rigs. Good for mild off roading, great in the snow...not so much as 18 inches though lol, and great for road trippin with a small fam.

Glad to see she napped up a 75th!

The 75th is a sweet package for sure. great score. The pat is a great rig for a daily driver. 4wd, lots of room in it, comfortable, decent on gas, good looking. a win, win, win, win! ha ha.
