What size is your spare wheel? It wouldn't surprise me if the stock spare is a 17" wheel with a 265/70r17 tire, since that would match the OD of the original 265/65r18 tires. If that's the case, you may have to consider something like a 255/75r17 or 255/80r17, or buy a new spare 18" wheel.

Good good catch

I just checked and the spare is: P265/70R17 (31.60 x 10.40)

295/65R18 = 33.10 x 11.80

Spare P265/70R17 = 31.60 x 10.40

Again, the spare tire width does not concern me, just trying to get close to the 33.10" diameter

Finding a common size 17" tire for a spare is also a concern

275/75/R17 = 33.20 x 10.80 (Tire Rack say does not exist)

33 x 11.50R17 does not exist

33 x 10.50R17 size does exist, but only one make/model

Other option is to find a used 18" rim on Ebay ? (but that will also be $200 ontop of still needing a tire)

255/75R17 = 32.10 x 10
too small

255/80R17 = 33.10 x 10
right fit diameter

Toyo sells an open country in the 255/80R17 for $215

I think this will be my cheapest and best option

285/75R17 is 33.8x11.2

this size seems to be a tad more also than a 255/80R17

Maybe I'll look for a used tire with half tread to cut down on the 33.80" overall diameter

But a new 255/80 is still a great option

Falken ATW also has the 255/80R17, a true 33". Since they're narrow, you won't loose as much ground clearance below the spare.

Curious why you would entertain the thought of buying a taller tire for your spare (285/75r17) when your 4 main tires aren't going to get any taller with wear. Finding a used 255/80r17 with half-tread would come closer to matching the size of your new tires across their full lifespan. Also, the width of the 285 will make it hang lower and be more vulnerable to damage. Unless you have a flat while your tires are new, or you buy a matching wheel and tire so you can do 5 tire rotations, your spare will never be the same diameter as your other tires. Also consider, the 285/75r17 will be heavier than than the 255/80r17 - Toyo AT III is a 7 lb difference. It isn't much, but it's that much more to wrestle out from under the truck. Plus, it's extra weight you're hauling around all the time, impacting fuel economy and reducing remaining payload. The thing you have to consider most with respect to diameter is the G80 locker; too much difference in diameter and the spare will need to go on the front. I never worried much about the 1.1" difference between my OE spare and the 275/70r17 tires I was running on my 2014 Sierra; I just knew that if I had a flat before my tires were pretty near worn out, the spare would have to go on the front.

How often have you had to use the spare tire on your vehicle? For me, it's been 3 times in the past 22 years. Off road, I'd prefer to repair and re-inflate if possible - likely quicker and safer than jacking up a vehicle on uneven terrain. Just my thoughts.

The KO2 in 34x10.5R17 also measures super small, same OD as BFG KM2 in 255/80R17, it might be an option as well, but its an expensive tire. Id vote for a 255/80 spare if you can find one at a good price.

My spare tires is not a 285/75/R17 and I am not considering this size either as a spare

Above in post #408 I wrote P265/70R17 = 31.60 x 10.40

I am calling around today for prices on the 255/80

I think I want to get new rear shocks......70,000 miles and my experience is that Rancho factory shocks are probably toast

Looking at the Diablo 8245 programmer also....hope to find one used

........and just like that, no air conditioning

Seems like a huge problem with 2014 - 2017 trucks

Not covered under warranty and GM has yet to issue a recall on it

Condenser line failure and takes the compressor with it

For a $100 to $200 part, labor to replace the part is very expensive

Quotes are $750-$1200

I am going to find the leak first, scuff the cracked and area and use some JB first to see if it will hold for this summer

I get that alert intermittently. Seems like it could be a lot of things.
