Looks like it is probably the pajero sport rather than the full fat pajero. The lines on the front are very like the current L200, and it doesn't have the same upright position the pajero has

The other tell is the outline of the rear diff- exactly where it would be w/ a solid axle, but where it wouldn't be w/ IRS.

It looks like the new Outlander.

Continuing off topic, but holy toledo that pick up from south of the border is awesome. And completely reasonable. I wish the new Colorados were stripped and simplified that that....who needs wifi - seriously?!

I know its not realistic, but I would only be interested if they would present one with two solid axles....

Thats probably never going to happen in this day and age. The only reason that the L200 has a solid rear axle is that they're designed for carrying loads. They're nice machines, but when compared to a pajero of a similar age they feel a bit stone age.

I'm just happy that we have out nice and simple trucks when we got them, they are just the right age where they're cheap enough to give a bit of abuse to, plentiful enough to get spares for, and not old enough to be breaking all the time. Mine has no ECU for the engine bar something to alter the amount of time the glow plugs come on for depending on the engine temp, Gearbox has an electronic control, but again it is pretty simple

Just saw this, was recently thinking about my dad's Montero Sports from a few years ago... Loved those trucks. Here's to hoping you can get a factory rear diff lock! This is the first new SUV besides the LR4 that I wouldn't mind getting into.

I'm glad Mitsu seems to be ditching the eclectic/eccentric direction they wanted to adopt when the i-MiEV was launched. I think it's failure made them rethink being an electric/hybrid only brand. Reports of a 7th Gen Eclipse and Montero returning are good news. They need to bring the L200/Triton here as well. The Dakota/Raider partnership was a horrible idea.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
LT said they are testing L200's in Colorado, with the chicken tax finally getting kicked it could be something to watch for.

One could hope, but they might only be testing for Canada or just for fun. Mitsu has always had toys here with zero intention of bringing them over. The engineers and product specialists can import anything to play with basically. You have no idea how frustrating it was working for them and seeing an Evo 6.5 TME just sitting in a service bay at Engineering for months. Granted this was when we had the two Evo 7's we were testing for the eventual 8's importation, and it wasn't relevant, but still a horrible waste as an enthusiast.

A lot of manufacturers test trucks they never intend on bringing stateside on the mountain passes in CO.
