2019 Ford Ranger Payload?

Watch out and do your homework on new technology. I "dodged" a bullet by avoiding the new adaptive steering, cruise, moonroof etc. etc.

Base models with carry over technology are running fine across the board.

There are how many engine options for the F150? And this new Ranger has only one engine and in some configurations will probably cost more or equal to an F150 configuration. An as I mentioned the Ranger doesn't look to even have a longer bed option with the crew cab option. They really stick it to the midsize buyers.

Also build a 4x4 on the Ford site. If that is a picture of a 4x4 then it is in seriously need of a lift. Looks to have about 6 inches of ground clearance. If that is the case a lift is pretty much mandatory.

That is a valid point about the engine options on the F150. Even the upcoming Silverado / Sierra seem to have quite a few engine choices. 4cyl, V6, two gas V8's and a inline diesel.

It is kind of odd they aren't offering a NA motor. I must admit the turbo does interest me. Turbos are nice in Colorado.

I'm guessing ground clearance will be around 9" based on the AUS specs which is pretty standard for a mid size.

And it's substantially Australian conceptually compared to the Tacoma, which is pretty much an American truck now. I've had an American truck, which is why I bought a Toyota. The irony is it was a Ford that was the final straw and it's a Ford now that piqued my interested.

Australian designed and developed, but built in Thailand (M prefix VIN - same as the Toyota HiLux, Isuzu DMax, Holden Colorado, Mitsubishi L200/Triton. Also some Nissan Navaras (others were made in Spain))

When I was looking at Hi Luxes, the J prefix VIN utes were carrying a small premium over the Thai built ones.

I just avoid this by running a 26 year old 4Runner and a 40 year Land Cruiser... both built in Japan.
