Anyone know if towing capacity will change- hopefully for the better- with AWD??
Surprised more people aren't talking about this. I saw it a day ago or so. This will definitely help bring down prices for quigleys and 4x4 sprinters. The extra cost for AWD/4x4 has gotten stupid.
Finally got the pricing for my van. Gulp. All of the options sounded so good so I checked them all except the running boards! $62,500 MSRP. Hoping for some incentives when it arrives!
Is that going to come out to around the same $ as AWD?Couldn't wait for the 2020... ordered a 2019 Cab Chassis Cut Away. Will get it converted to 4x4 by quigley.
I don't have the 2020 pricing available therefore can't compare. But I know that the quigley will be a true 4x4 and outperform the AWD.Is that going to come out to around the same $ as AWD?
Interesting I’m looking at the new 2020 Explorer and I’d wager its running the same setup. Its the same rear wheel drive linear engine layout with the logic playing with front wheel power allocation. All the other “awd” offerings are transverse engine and front wheel drive biased. It’s very disappointing that ford only vaguely explained how this awd system works on transit.
After doing some research on Ford’s awd system I came across this video that shows an oversees transit, which, according to the chief engineer works on a wet clutch and can be permanently locked with a button. Basically similar to a central differential locking of land cruiser.
Here is video. (From 2:45)
I hope will have something like that sort.
Should we start a petition with Ford so that UJoint gets their AWD van first? I think yes.
