Nice work and nice build thread!
thanks
Nice work and nice build thread!
I just got to watch the two new videos, outstanding!
A few observations. Your buddy who loaned you the shop it a true friend. What a great covered space to do the assembly. Nice in good weather and a lifesaver in uber-hot weather. That lift was perfect to use for 'roof-work'. The extra effort to make the curved section on the cabover part was well worth it IMO. While a 45 angle would have looked fine, the extra effort to make the curved section makes it look extra professional, a cut about the 'normal. And those Total Composite support brackets look great. They look much better in the video that in the still photos I have seen of them. Great job, awesome work, and a big thanks for taking the time to make the videos and posts. That takes a huge amount of time and effort on your part and we all benefit from your work.
Thanks for the kind words.
It’s a great/funny situation over there...
My best friend and his buddy have the property / shop with the lift and all sorts of good stuff.
The area we built most of it in is technically their neighbors area. They kind of all use each other’s tools and work areas and such. Old school neighbor like stuff.
Neighbor that let me build the truck there I hadn’t even met before but he’s retired, in his 80s and thought it would be cool to watch. So he moved his huge $ RV onto the street for me at his insistence.
I felt odd and uncomfortable at first, but we’ve now become good friends.
I have whacky days off so I’m usually doing most of it myself. He hangs out most of the day and tells me everything I’m doing wrong and offers his two cents. Funny part is, literally all advice he’s given during this has been spot on perfect! (Retired building inspector).
He also hasn’t been shy lending an extra set of hands when needed and enjoys being a part of something new and whacky.
Just last week he says to me “When you first started this, I thought you were a damn fool that bit off more than you could chew, but this has been awesome to watch” hahahaha
He’s a rad human!
He mentioned he’s always wanted to go to Death Valley and needs to see it before he passes, so that might be my maiden voyage, with him. He will be in his pimp RV though!
Made 2 new good friends during this and that’s a big win!
Awesome job man
I may have missed it, but what are the floor dimensions of the box?
Fantastic work, so much fun just to watch and follow along. ???
the fewer the better. two well placed windows
are all you need in my op. the are cold and need cleaning, and let bugs in and. any way. we have duel pain glass with built in screens and shades. i would not recommend any thing less then that.
Meh I like light...
