Well that did not go as expected.
After the last road trip it was time to do what I had been putting off, drive to my dealer to have some recalls taken care of and have the speedometer calibrated. All the research I did over the last few months and that was the only option for the speedometer calibration.
Since we have been primarily building and not using, about to change, it was no big deal on the above.
Arrived at the dealer, they are really good to work with. The tech's went crazy over the truck, can be a good thing
. Got the recalls done pretty quick and the service tech went to order the speedometer recalibration package for the truck......AND......not available. She was kind enough to let me see everything she was seeing on the screen with Dealer connect. Service manager comes onboard, odd looks, and can not find where we can order the recalibration package. They have done it on MULTIPLE older models but not a 2022 or newer.
After a bit.......NOTHING!
Sitting in the waiting room enjoying my coffee and free wifi I come up with this:
https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/procal-snap-hd-ram/ The link shows 4500/5500 online.
Last time I checked, which was a few months ago, no one had a module yet. I even called Hypertech.
Everyone seemed to be working on an "inline" version.
One of the tech remembers the 37" restriction on the older RAMs when performed by the dealer but he had yet to see a 41" tire, really 39.5 ISH, on a newer RAM.
TO THE GROUP.........If ANYONE has experience with either the AEV 2022 Module or another way of adjusting the speedometer, transmission shift points, in a 2022 or newer RAM 4500 or 5500 PLEASE chime in. It is different in the 2500 and 3500's, according to what I can find, especially the NAV versions of those trucks.
I plan on ordering the AEV unit this next week if we can not find a fix. Good news is it is only $75 bucks more than the dealer wanted to do it and I own the module for later
THANK YOU!
CHEERS!!
