Busy building. Big trip push.....ignoring the thread -:(
A quick update.

Under sink kitchen shelf made and test fit. YES, I cleaned up all the wiring :) I still want to redo the P trap to a smaller camper version for a bit more room under the sink.

The heater is in and it works. The vent will be hooked up today.

Our first epoxy pour. I let my artistic side come out. Just a temporary kitchen table on some scrap plywood.

Then we got serious. The wife did an AMAZING job on the kitchen counter. Poured over bamboo that the shipping company was kind enough to buy us :)

TEST FIT.....HEY LOOK....flooring :)

Bathroom done! Just need to hang the shower curtain and the bathroom door. EASY!

Worked late last night!

The grey tank storage box door had a powder coat flaw and will be redone this week. I was able to get the drivers side box installed and mount the diesel fuel fill. Great idea, but some work to hook up. There will be a block off plate to protect the hoses inside the storage box, just ran out of time.

Just before I installed the smaller vent line. I will not be fast filling the front tank. Only 3.5" of fall between the fill point and the tank. About 3 feet of fill hose total.

IMG_6754.jpeg
The cab chassis comes with a bag full of most of the parts to do the installation. The fill SS curved 90"s for the fill tube are nice! I just needed to pick up a few 3/4" 90 degree elbows and a few small clamps for the vent line.

That’s a pretty flat run on the fill line. May be slow to fill with out the pump clicking off. Usually not a problem for gasoline but diesel foams a fair amount. Amazing work much respect!

The inset filler is so dang cool, never seen it before!

Bravo sir

Am i losing my mind (possible) or did you move one of the filler to the passenger side? Or is the photo flipped?

Look closely at the box photos on the floor. Notice 3 openings :) Air chuck mid rig passenger side long door box. The one missing the door is the grey tank concealment box. I will also have an air chuck on the drivers side. I am thinking on the DEF mount Ram provides us. More later!

Thanks again Man!

PS….I might have gotten the fuel filler idea on EP. THANKS BRAD!! BRAD_UT

Cheers!!

We did not fall off of the planet, we just flew 4500 miles east for awhile :)
The wife and took a long awaited, you know the whole pandemic thing, overseas trip.

Time for a Daytona trip update.

First, the front tank diesel fill worked REALLY well. I can set it on the second auto fill setting on the pump handle and it does not foam much and shuts off in time not to spill diesel all over if you put the nozzle all the way in. Ask me how I know :) The rear tank will have a bit more fall on the fill angle, fill port is much closer to the tank.

I will start working on the grey tank, rear fuel fill, shortly. Time to catch up on the other vehicles we own first.

Weight! This is the total weight with me, full fuel, def. 110 gallons of water on board. Storage boxes pretty full with a weeks worth of stuff, lots of tool and spare parts. A week plus worth of food and beer on board. Loaded for a week, and then some, trip. I am VERY HAPPY with this. I am HOPING to only add another 1000 LBS with the spare tire, air system and rear storage box. Very little wood and hardware left to install on the inside.

The BIG deal is when I was at Josam's Truck shop in Orlando I had a 4 wheel weigh done and we were within 150 LBS difference on the rear tires and almost even on the fronts. This will help me decide which side of the rig to mount the spare tire. There will be a small rear storage box, no deeper than the spare tire on the mount, to hold longer items.

Mike, at Josam's working his magic. I have worked with the service manager, Barry, at Josam's before. I trained a few of his techs on diesel pusher motorhome suspension upgrades, a few years ago. GREAT people and they know what they are doing! WORTH THE TRIP! I was REALLY CLOSE to having it right just by measurements . It is dialed in now! 4 wheel laser alignment and suspension check.

FYI...Josam's is VERY familiar with the Kelderman and Liquid Spring suspension systems.

OK....this was a GREAT idea. Not tooting my own horn just a reminder that a little planning pays off HUGE! More counter top space, easy to take the cooktop outside (where we will cook a BUNCH) single burner was all we feel we needed. We are REALLY good at "one pot wonders" when we go camping.

Back at it this coming week.

So nice, you are going to want some real good front mud flaps. you will be amazed at how much damage the rocks are going to do to the front face of that amazing habitat. I know I was. they dont look good but neither do rock pits and sand blasted fiberglass.

AGREED.

They are on the list just ran out of time for this trip. I want to make something VERY functional and hopefully look decent. ?.
Yet another DIY project!

The plan is to Raptor liner the front and underside of the storage boxes also.
MAYBE the lower part of the door. Jury is still out on that one.

Having towed boats most of my adult life I could not agree more. Good mud flaps are a MUST!

Thanks for the personal experience! AND kind words!!

CHEERS!!
