Oh I would have thought the opposite, good to know!
IIRC it has to do with moisture building up in the intercooler. Idleing there is not enough airflow to blow all of it out, so it can build up. Most aftermarket superchargers don't use an air to air intercooler so they avoid this problem.

The roush kit uses an air to air intercooler as well. :(

In other news, i'm going to order a new truck in the next month or so, trying to decide between another 3.5 Ecoboost, or going with a 5.0l and positive displacement intake manifold (aka a big ol' belt driven blower). Just concerned with reliability with 650hp and towing 10,000+lbs at elevation, and how brutal our winters are. Lots of idle time too, which probably isn't good with a supercharger. Truck has 370 hours on it, and something like 75 of them are idle hours.
Why are you getting out of this truck?

Get a Tremor with supercharged or twin turbo'ed 7.3..... Cause 8 gallons per mile is fun.

There have been some big issues lately with the 5.0 than there have been with the Ecos (oil burning) etc.
I owned a 5.0 and it was a great truck but the Ecoboosts are just in another league (IMO) especially if you ever tow or live at altitude.
Hmmm. Did some quick digging on this. I *think* I might be okay. I have a 2015 with the 5.0L and it seems these issues are related to 2018 + trucks?

I'm going to ordering a 6.7 tremor in the next couple months, anybody interested in this truck? With the USD to strong it is stupid cheap for our US folks. (14,000KM- 9000 Miles) will go up as it is my daily when not riding the moto.

any reason in particular you decided against getting the powerstroke tremor or do you still plan to?

I dunno lol... Longest i've kept a vehicle is two years, this one will be nearing in on that. Just time for something different.

I missed the order cutoff by like 3 days for a 2020. I would never own a gas 1 ton unless it was work truck. Underpowered and fuel hungry.

Stock 5.0l's are gutless, especially at altitude, which is why my last 4 trucks have been ecoboost'. However, i'm considering either another eco or a supercharged 5.0l.

Uhhhh...the new 7.3 is a lot of things, but underpowered isn't one of them...haha.

Also, it gets decent fuel economy for what it is...and it's cheaper per mile to drive than the 6.7

so 2021 tremor out of the question? I just ask as i have a 2012 f150 5.0 and find myself debating F150 vs superduty. do i keep mine and upgrade it or do I step up. Just wanted to know what went into your decision making process.
cheers ?

I just put 3500km on a 7.3, it's dramatically better than the 6.2 but compared to the other optional engine... The 6.7... It's nothing.

Undecided on the half ton or superduty.
